I'm Padma from Bangalore and I work with an IT firm. I bought a Blazing Red Kinetic SYM Flyte in the month of February, 2008. I had done a lot of R& D for a month, before I decided on Flyte, and also taken the test drives on all the scooters in the segment(likes of Honda Activa, Honda Dio, Hero Honada Pleasure, Suzuki Access, and so on). A few of the criteria I had for buying a 2 wheeler were- power, easy handling, looks, storage, comfort and stability. I have refrained from writing any reviews so far as I wanted to ride the scooter for a few months before I can give out my ratings. I MUST SAY I just loved FLYING on my PRIVATE CHARTERED PLANE ) and it didn't let me down in any aspect that I have chosen it for - Be it looks, power, comfort, stability, I can go on and on. The engine combined with excellent suspensions is a silent performer, and runs as smooth as running through butter that while riding it I sometimes wonder whether it’s running. Its powerful engine effortlessly pulls off even when you have one(or two) pillion riders:) . Be careful! The features like front fueling, generous(22 Lit) under- seat storage capacity(which can accommodate your full face helmet plus some other items), foldable crash resistant mirrors, sleek yet curvaceous body will attract those envious looks from many.:)
No Doubt, I’m impressed with this new collaborative effort from Kinetic and SYM. But yes, I would like to mention a few glitches- the headlights and horn are very weak and don't match the power of the engine. Also, The Fuel Indicator doesn't actually indicate the correct readings- for example when the Fuel Indicator drops to zero level, you can only fill in 3 litres, and I'm still doubtful whether the fuel tank capacity is 5 litres as claimed in the manuals. Probably, this has to be understood as the affect of having a front fuel-filler. Mileage also doesn’t even get close to the range of what manufacturers claim, i.e. 50kmpl+. So far the mileage for my Flyte had hardly been 40kmpl, though the dealer confidently states that after the first 3 or 4 services the mileage will improve a lot. I'm hopeful.
Over all, a really marvelous scooter, which matched most of my criteria very well, and truly a star performer from Kinetic. Looks like Kinetic is back with a bang in their field of " Auto geared scooters" AGAIN! Also, my experience with Kinetic customer care or dealer has been very good so far, that they really make you feel like one from a royal family, who has chartered the Flyte. HAPPY FLYING !
