Bought the NOVA-135 from Kinetic Automatics, Pune, less than a month ago, only because it was readily available on Dasara day than waiting for the Activa for 45 days. The Nova 135 started giving problems right from the day-1! First the engine started loosing power around speed of 35 kmph (as if going on reserve due to low fuel). Took it back to the dealer the next day who said it was due to air intake which they supposedly adjusted. Next day the battery went dead!! Took it back to the dealer who replaced it saying the original one was faulty! A week later the engine problem re-appeared & the speedometer stopped working. After calling the servicing several times, they finally sent some service guys home for repairing the speedometer & re-adjusting the engine. Last week just before Diwali the battery again started acting up. It is not able to retain the charge over-night, and is dead in the morning, requiring me to kick start the vehicle. And in the mornings, even with the choke provided this requires 15-20 kicks, which is quite tiring! And to add to my woes, couple of days back the kick got jammed!! So my Nova-135 cannot even be started - no button start (as the battery is all discharged) and neither with the kick - since that is jammed. Have called & complained several times & have asked the dealer to simply take back the vehicle now!!
I have previously owned 2 Kinetic-Honda DXs (2 stroke), and have been very happy with them. But in those days it was Kinetic-HONDA. Now with the Honda split, Kinetic vehicles quality has really gone down the drain! The Nova only looks similar to the Activa (as it is the same design), but the quality of the parts & engine is clearly not good!
Think twice before buying the Nova-135. In hind-sight buying the Activa & waiting 45 days for the delivery would have been better than the ordeal I have had to face for the last month after purchasing the Nova-135.
