I know you’ll say that on all my reviews on BIG BIKES, I get carried away...but this time ...only for this last time you must excuse me ...if I get a bit more carried away than normal.
After all...it’s not everyday that we Indians get to see the launch of a 250cc bikeon our roads...that too shaped like Bipasha Basu’s curves. Now don’t ask me where the Aquila resembles Bipasha...but in some strange way...the aquiline Aquila struck a chord in me, as a voluptuous, sexy and dusky babe. The moment I set my eyes on it, the moment I put my hand on her engine (250 CC V-twin engine and all of 26 bhp baby)she arched her back and almost murmured out a purr...
Now that we had warmed up...i slowly slithered on to her seat, not wanting to disturb her mood in any way and gunned her engine up. She acknowledged my presence on top of her with a grunt and a moan.
We set off on the Thane - Mumbai express highway, my favorite testing (Hunting) ground for a night out with a woman like this. Did I have a ball of a time....oooohhhhhhyeah. We touched a top speed of around 130 Kms/hr (my friends tell me that if I had pushed her for more I would have got her up to 150), and even in that speed the engine held well...she was pumping rps by the thousands and she never even swayed a bit. Good balance and design seems to be rattle free down to the tee. Finally, after all it is v-twin engine that we a taking out for a ride.
Yes, yes, now to the negatives. She’s too expensive at Rs.1.5 lacs on the road. Take her out for dinner and she’ll drink petrol like a professional boozer would drink alcohol. But…But....how many Indian bikes on the road are Oil cooled, V-Twin engine, 250 cc cruisers. THE ANSWER IS NONE. So...my babe and me had a wonderful time on the road, we burnt rubber and enjoyed our one night stand.
However, I hear the Yamaha guys are going to bring in a bombshell into India....shhhhh…don’t tell it out loud, they’re bringing into India the XVS1100A Drag Star. 1000 cc plus cc’s of power.....hmmmmmmm....now you know why I prefer only one night stands with the aquila...Because I want to marry and get settled down with the Yamaha Dragster....hahahahahahaha!
