Well, the promos of this movie on TV didn't excite me atall and more importantly they didn't show the substance of the film. So there was no way I even thought of watching it in a theatre ....I mean I didn't want to take a risk spending my money on this film. The film later went on to be a flop ... or a semi-flop?

So very soon it landed on TV. I wanted to see a bit of it and then decide whether to watch the whole movie. Interestingly I was hooked. The way the story unfolds and the middle-class problems been showed kept me interested. Khwahish has a storyline of substance and relevant for any normal ....middle-class guy or girl.

Underneath the kiss-hype and nude promos, what came across was a wonderful film which aren't made often. I could relate to the characters and the story ... The main characters played by Mallika and Himanshu aren't lusty atall but they just like having a good time, like anybody else. I am surprised howcome people didn't look at the other side of the film and appreciate it.

This film is very relevant for the youth. It shows how they can have fun as well as be responsible for what they are doing. The character played by Mallika is strong and I like it. If Himanshu is too shy to buy a condom at a store, she as his girlfriend acts bold and gets one. She can't afford to get pregnant ...she makes her firm choice. Isn't this very relevant to today's girls?

There is one more example I like to give to show how this film makes sense. In the later part of the film, Himanshu happens to get angry and break a glass. Normally either the scene ends there or the guy just walks off leaving somebody to clean the mess. But here the director has shown Himanshu clean the glass pieces. It is a very real situation, men nowdays cannot ride on their chauvinism. Its fair enough that he has to clean the mess. Something the guys should learn.

The acting overall is good. Mallika has good potential and should takeup challenging roles. The direction is good but its not the directors fault if he has to accomodate stupid songs or love scenes. Actually due to these scenes the movie failed to make inroads into the decent audience who should have been the target audience. Hope people still make such meaningful films sans the nudity and hot promos.
