KHUDA HAAFIZ - SCORING LOW ON THE PLOT LINE

IN MY OPINION:

Vidyut Jammwal being on the lead role the crowd would be going crazy enough to watch this movie. And, why won't they? After all, he is well-known for his action flicked sequences from his Commando film series. But, sadly here you won't get to watch those action scenes in bulk except in just one scene where he’s shown stabbing everyone in sight. Here, in this movie he plays a role of a software engineer named Sameer Choudhary with a sweet and charming persona that every girl would love.

Based on a true event of 2008 recession(financial crisis) period, the film fails to impress you due to its weak storyline.

STAR-CAST:

Vidyut Jammwal - Sameer Chaudhary

Shivaleeka Oberoi - Nargis Sameer Chaudhary

Annu Kapoor - Usman Hamid Ali Murad(Usman Bhai)

Shiv Panditt - Faiz Abu Malik

Aahana Kumra - Tameena Hamid

Nawab Shah - Itzak Regini

Gargi Patel - Nandini Chaudhary

PLOT OF THE MOVIE:

The duo Sameer & Nargis get married and are living a happy life. Their happiness is crashed into ashes when they loose their jobs due to the recession occurred in 2008. They then apply for a job in a fictional country, Sultanate of Noman. Nargis reaches there first and she is abducted by Itzak Regini(Nawab Shah) from the airport with other girls who had applied for a job in Noman. Soon Sameer receives a phone call from Nargis stating that some people are misbehaving with her and she asks him to come to Noman to take her back to India. Sameer then reaches Noman and gets help from a Pathan cab driver Usman Hamid Ali Murad aka Usman Bhai(Annu Kapoor) and with his help he is able to trace his wife and finds her but unable to rescue her out. The Noman government then appoints two ISA officers Faiz Abu Malik(Shiv Panditt) and Tameena Hamid(Aahana Kumra) to rescue his wife. Though during the investigation they are misleaded, he finally succeeds in unboxing the mystery and saving his wife.

They said it is an action-thriller movie but the action scenes are very limited. The entire storyline has went more into a dramatic part and the thriller section is completely gone missing and instead suspense is created as to what will happen next!? And, all this happened due to the patchy writing of the script which diluted the impact of the whole plot. Itzak Regini(Nawab Shah) who is behind the abduction is left in the midway. There is no sign of his arrest. Another scene shows where a spy officer of Noman government comes into the screen. How and who sent him, no one knows. Seems like he appeared like a "JIN" of Aladdin in the middle of the story. I won't reveal here whom he was spying. Let it be a reason for you to watch the movie. So, not following the genre part, poor scripting and some loopholes in the film which remains unanswered makes Khuda Haafiz a low scorer on the plot line.

PERFORMANCE:

The performance part is what makes the entire movie a reason for you to watch it. Vidyut Jammwal and Annu Kapoor have done justice to their roles thereby sharing the maximum screen time. On the other hand, Shivaleeka Oberoi had very less dialogues as we could catch only a glimpse of her on the screen. You will hardly get to know about her. Vidyut's concern over his lost wife has been shown clearly but the vice-versa is missing! All the other characters did well and supported the plot from being fallen down completely.

MUSIC:

Is there any Bollywood film that goes without a song in it? No matter what, they are created even if it is not required in the movie at all. It was only the title track "Khuda Haafiz" that went in flow with the plot even after such a poor scripting of the film. Well, on a musical note the songs were pretty good but weren't actually needed in the film. They just increased the running time of the movie.

CINEMATOGRAPHY:

Jitan Harmeet Singh(Director of Photography) has given us some of the best shots in the film. The cinematography is another major factor that contributes towards the success of a film making. The locations were of the major importance in a film like this and that's where they have scored it correctly. The sets decorated by Nikhil Vijayanand(Assistant Art Director) has been well-crafted that won't disappoint you at any cost.

And, did you know?

The country Noman is a fictional country that has been created in the country of Uzbekistan and its neighbouring areas. There is no such place called Noman that exists in reality(including Noman Air).

MY SUGGESTION TO YOU:

I won't recommend you to watch this film, but you can watch it for the performers like Vidyut Jammwal and Annu Kapoor. Their acting is what going to make you well connected with the movie. It's a one-time watch.
