Sundays have always been my day of leisure.and when it is a post event sunday, a post shopping sunday and basically a post everything  sunday.it is bound to be relaxing, fun and heavy( due to all the non activites, the breakfasts, lunches, snacks, fruits etc).this sunday was just one of those sundays.and I blissfully spent this memorable sunday watching KKG aka Khosla ka Ghosla.

Khosla ka Ghosla is a film about the aspirations and dreams of a middle class family.a family which eats, drinks and sticks together in times of happiness and more importantly adversity! KKGis a journey of a man, his family, his ideals and his moments of despair, helplessness and pure happiness.

The main plot of KKG is typically Delhi based.a middle class "non- south" delhi family man who has worked hard.worked hard all his life to make life better.not for him but for his children who still list high on his priority list.Mr Khosla, played by Anupam Kher is one such man.he has now earned enough money to fulfil one of his long lost dreams.of owning a plot in the esteemed "south delhi"and live a life of fancy! The film revolves around how this plot makes life turn for the entire family.

KKG is an usual film.in the sense that it is very close to reality.the nuances of the actors, the dialogues, the situations.you have all seen them, heard about them and may be at some moment of time, played the lead in them! This is what sets KKG apart.**it is a film which makes you sit back and realise that this is what life is.and would be!

KKG stands out because of its script, the actors, the genuinity of the concept and the effort on making a film as close to reality as one can.Dipankar Banerjee needs to be applauded for doing full justice as a debut director to a script which required mature handling. He never for a moment make that consious effort on depicting the true Delhi life.it comes naturally to him and the script!

All the lead actors in the film have done their best.kudos to Anupam Kher for doing a role which easlily blurs the difference between Mr Kher and Mr Khosla.he is simply the best when it comes to essaying roles which script backed! Mr Khosla as a helpless family man, as a concerned father, as a moralistic mortal and as a happy, proud and content father is a delight to watch and never does he overdo any of the emotions.he is the main protagonist and he does full justice to the expectations!

The other actors are all natural.to say the least.Ranvir Shorey is the typical "punjabi" munda who aspires and dreams.and does only that.with an occasional dabble in shares, property and gully fights.Parveen Dabas as "Chironjee Lal" is a not a funny guy.but has had his share of jokes.because of his name.a name which doesnt fit in him.in ahy which way.**he is the nameless middle class man who lives life on certain set rules and would not even try to bend them.for his own good!

Boman Irani.he is a class apart.according to my dad. " The director should have taken a punjabi to essay the role of Mr Khurana.Boman is a parsi".After viewing the film." You sure Boman is a parsi.or is he a sort of punjabi"..that says it all**.Boman is a character actor.he never lets the real Boman out and that is what makes him apart.

The script and dialogues are all real, everyday and funny.which in a way means that us, Dilliwallahs are real and funny too( Bangaloreans.you will get there.be optimistic!) The lingo used by all the characters and the situations are all real.and identifiable.like the dream of living in South Delhi, the hustle bustle of traveling by Chartered buses, the occassional evening with drinks and soda- woda( make it everyday for some of us/you) and the hope that things would change.but I would not lead that change.all this and more makes KKG works!

The music of KKG is apt.the script does not require music and the director thankfully realised it.the songs are in the background and adds on to the soul of the film.Chak de phatte is a delight to listen too.if you are a punjabi or in love with a punjabi boy/girl or even love the language.you would love the song.and if you listen to it carefully, you can ever relate to the lyics~worth a listen.again!

KKG is an honest attempt.it is not a film which gives a strong social message nor is it a film which can be trashed.it is a film based on reality and therefore it is more identifiable.KKG is an attempt that needs to be encouraged.!

PS: Just realised that a lot of MSians would love to meet up.in Delhi; if you are one of those who are reaching for Saddi Dilli, leave me a M2M.and who knows, you might get lucky:)
