A bad attempt to remake such a classic movie

When you are remaking a cult like Hrishikesh Mukherjee's Khoobsurat, plenty of comparisons will definitely arise. The question is whether it was on par with the original one? – Well, It was just about there but neither it did full justice to the original screenplay nor was the acting was even comparable to classic.

Khoobsurat tells a story of Milli(Sonam Kapoor) who is chirpy- bubbly-full- of-life physiotherapist who enters a royal family and changes the household.

Shashank Ghosh who gave us forgettable films like Waisa Bhi Hota Hain Part 2 and Quick Murugun, comes with a lame script after been highly impressed with original Khoobsurat which gave him the chance to direct the film. Frankly speaking, when I heard about the remake, I was wondering who could have played the character so perfectly as Rekha did. Sonam Kapoor stepped in the role and but was now where close to it. Director has tweaked a story little bit by adding new characters. The film starts off well with couple of scenes standing out. But that is it, nothing more than this. The problem is that we have admired the original part so much that this film, even though, is bound to be compared, falls short of it. Please note: If you are watching the film for the first time, you might like it.

The screenplay has been changed in bits and pieces. The songs are terrible. Cinematoraphy is amazing. Art direction is captivating. Background score is just about OK. Coming to performances, Sonam Kapoor does a decent job but still goes over the top in few scenes Rina Pathak is strictly okay. Fawad Khan does well in the supporting role. Rina Pathak is strictly okay. Kirron Kher repeats herself as Punjabi Mom.

Overall, a bad attempt to remake such a classic movie. Disappointing
