Silent Killers. Review on Khadims Footwear

I didn't want to use such a dramatic title for a footwear brand. But what this particular brand of footwear did to me and my family over decades,I just couldn't stand any more. Little I knew a footwear can do such damages,or else I would have never visited this outlet.

Let me tell you what exactly happened. The nearest showroom or Khadim's is close to my ancestral home in Kolkata. From childhood days I have seen my mom buying sandals and other footwear from there for the entire family. But it gave her  and all of us a peculiar sort of cracks on the sole. Not only cracked heels,it caused very irritable criss-cross cracks which used to burn like hell when came in contact with hot water or soap. We failed to understand the link between the usage of Khadim's footwear and the cracks,at that time(almost 20 years back) nobody was that aware about such things. You got your shoes and sandals to wear,enough,don't complain now.that was the attitude then. Somehow mother started shopping for footwear from another Bata store near her office,the cracks gradually disappeared. Nobody gave the Khadim's shoes a second look and those were thrown out of the house.

After my marriage the second episode of Khadim's began. My mother in law was complaining to me about her cracked heels and soles for long. The situation was so severe,I had to take her to a dermatologist. He couldn't find any reason,so just asked to change the footwear and watch for a month. I purchased a scholl footwear for her and threw away her sandals. It was hard to believe the result we got. Not only she got rid of that peculiar soars and stinking discharge from the cracks,her knee and back pain also got cured. She couldn't thank me enough for the initiative. But this time I got suspicious about this brand. I started checking for others using the same brand,if they got the same result. Whoa.the finding was even more scarier! One of my cousins got a nasty soar under her soles which no doctor was able to cure,after throwing away the sandals purchased from Khadim's, for the first time she saw improvement. An elderly teacher known to our family was bedridden with unbearable joint pain and same kind of cracks and sore,she also got instant relief after changing the footwear. I was horrified to identify the hidden culprit after years,but how to prove that? I wanted one last experiment,on myself.

I went to the same outlet near my home and bought 2 pairs of footwear,one for me and another one for dear hubby. Hubby dear always mocks at people's cracked soles and heels, claiming that he never gets such things. But after wearing this new shoes,within two weeks the characteristic cracks appeared on his soles,under and in between fingers,heels got deep cracks and a peculiar stinking discharge oozed out of those sores. I also got something similar,but before it turns quite worse,I stopped wearing the new Khadim's sandal and took medical assistance. Hubby was so shocked after knowing my motive,he didn't talk to me for a while and ran for the doctor!

Now our scars are healed,but hubby still has some deep marks of those sores under his feet. He curses the outlet whenever he passes from there. I don't know whether it can be proved or not that something is horribly wrong with this footwear brand. But one thing is for sure,in future I will not engage myself in any more research with this brand,nor I will encourage anybody to wear any footwear from here. Good riddance!
