My tour code was NH030614(LEH LADAKH TOUR).I started along with my wife and son and we landed on LEH airport on 4th June. The tour was not a pleasant one and my family faced following problems…
We were supposed to receive complimentary bags before start of the tour and despite booking the Tour 3 months in advance and chasing up with Mr. Manoj of Kesari’s Delhi office(and umpteen promises), my family did not receive the Bags.
The matter of Acclimatization at LEH needs to be seriously taken by Kesari group and its personnel accompanying the Tour need to more educated on this so that they can guide the tour Party properly.Due to improper education we indulged in some activities which we should have avoided.
While going to the Pangong Lake trip on the third day we suffered headache, giddiness etc.as we moved from an altitude of 17500 ft from 11500 ft.within 3 hrs.There was no arrangement of Oxygen in our vehicle.(It is worthwhile to mention that when Kesari charged exorbitant amount for cancellation of this tour for other two members of my family, I was told that apart from cancellation fee charged by airlines etc. the High amount is due to the fact that Oxygen Cylinders were required to be procured for this High altitude tour.So where were the Cylinders meant for us?).You are practically playing with the lives of people joining the tour.
There were no facility of toilets en route and even Ladies were asked to relieve themselves in open areas. This is preposterous and either KESARI should make some arrangements for temp. toilets or should not organize such tours. I thought KESARI was quite conscious of its reputation.
(Since KESARI is charging 40 K to 50 K from each participant They should have arrangement of Temp. Toilets, Doctor and Oxygen etc.and people on such trips should be advised to inhale Oxygen at intervals to make the tour pleasant or KESARI should publish lack of Toilets, lack of Oxygen is advance so that people join with full knowledge of consequences)
Hotel Mogol at LEH is SUBSTANDARD property and even the running water(normal as well as hot) was an issue. And since even the intercom was not working, for every small thing, one had to approach the reception and then laboriously climb back to to one’s floor in the low oxygen atmosphere.
Food arrangements were not good and many times mandatory BREAD from breakfast and CURD from meals were missing. Many times evening snacks were substituted with biscuits. In fact on last Three days my FAMILY took our Meals at outside restaurants.
The tour itinerary was not made thoughtfully. Instead of arranging local sight seeing on the last day this could have been kept in between Strenuous Pangong lake trip and equally Strenuous Nubra Valley trip.Due to this My group did not go on Nubra Valley Trip and One of the tourist Ms. Abhilasha Gupta had to leave due to ill health immediately after the Pangong Lake Trip.
I listed all the above issues in my feedback form also but I really do not know whether it will reach the Bosses in KESARI, as it seems to be at the mercy of tour leader.I am still waiting for my Bags to arrive and the cheque for balance amount after cancellation, which is prepared on 5th June as per KESARI web site, is still awaited.I would love to know your response and action taken against Mr. Manoj of Delhi office who failed to deliver the bags before start of tour.
