I went to the Kerala Heath Spa sometime in November 2001 and was thoroughly disappointed.
The ambience is a cramped up place with the ghost of classical music playing in the background. Once you look at the massage bed, you wanna run !!
Now for the actual massage:
First of all they make you strip, then they rub some smelly hot oil all over you for half to one hour. The movements are hard and not at all relaxing for the muscles - just that the hands move up and down, up and down. I felt as if they were making me atone for past sins (and I don't have that many !!). Last of all is the bath with Medimix soap -- yucks !!
I suggest that you rather save for the real thing in Kerela !!
