I don’t know about other products of Kent, but the KENT Supreme which I bought just 4 months back is become nightmare for me and my family. 2 out of 4 months it is out of order and I am totally frustrated with the worst service of their service center ‘DKPL Appliances’.


Luckily I have my old manual water purifier still working which served me for last 4 years without any trouble and before that a online UV purifier which worked for me for 5 years. Both of them are product of different brand and still in good condition. Just to get the Mineral RO feature and the latest look of purifier aligned to my new kitchen I took the decision to buy this Kent Supreme. But now only I realize that for 17, 500/- bucks, not only I bought rubbish but also I invited the trouble on my head.


This is Sougata Ash( 9830365930), staying at South Kolkata, bought a Kent Supreme Mineral RO from ‘Sales Emporium Garia’( product serial no. is KR130402827) . The very next day it was installed by the service center named ‘DKPL Appliances’. At the time of installation, the service person shown me that the TDS of raw input water was around 1300 and the purified water was 90-100. First month, the taste of water was perfect and the system was functioning well.


After that the taste started downgraded and I called the service center one day. They checked the system and found TDS is around 600, they tried to convince me that this is normal and we never get the same taste and TDS level of a brand new system. I was not satisfied so called them again, they came, checked thoroughly and told me that the flow inside is very less which is not normal. After that, they took few days to come out with a solution and finally they appeared and told me that there may the problem in the motor, so they took the motor to the service station. After 2 weeks they replied me that the motor is perfect and they suspect that the problem is in the RO filter. After few days they appeared with a used( second hand) RO filter and tried to plugged it in my 2 months old system. When I did protest and phoned their senior, he first gave me some lame excuses and wanted me to accept it, but I made it clear to him that my system is just 2 months old and within the warranty, so if there any problem in any of its part the company should either repair or replace that part, but why to fit a used membrane which may be near expiry. Then they unplugged their used RO filter and took my new RO filter for repair. I insisted them to give a new RO filter since the old one is malfunctioned in just 2 months, they told me that it takes time to get a new filter from the company and so they could revert me back only after the durga puja.  Now, after almost 3 weeks, just yesterday evening( 31/10/2013) they came with my damaged RO filter which is got cleaned as per them. They installed it and found that the flow is very less and the TDS is above 600. The service person told me to check the taste after 30 mins.( for which he can not wait since he has some other call), the service center office is closed and the senior’s mobile was switched off. Me and my family was so frustrated with this useless product and so annoyed on the poor service of ‘DKPL Appliance’ and ‘Kent’ that we finally decided to appeal in the consumer court. But before that, my wife suggested and called the shop ‘Sales Emporium Garia’( for the first time) and talked to a senior( named Abhijit) who assured us that he would forward the details to Kent head office and provide a solution as soon as possible.


Now we are waiting for the response from Kent. I will continue this post with the next outcomes.
