I got a Kenstar Mixer in 2005 which had a life time warranty on the motor. Till 2008 July, It hardly happened for me to use this mixer and might hav used around 15-20 times. By then The motor went bad. The service centre said the motor had to be replaced.
For my bad luck I had no bill as I got this as a gift and also the manual was mixing, The person who gifted me only gave info that he had bought this from Big Bazzar. The Service centre claimed either bill or warranty card, whn I spoke to some senior person in Kenstar Mr. Sridhar, he agreed to replace it at free of cost and stated the service centre would only charge service sharges which is less than Rs. 100.
For the motor to get replaced, it took 2 long weeks and then they came back asking for motor charges. The person whom I had spoke Mr. Sridhar did'nt keep his word and started claiming full charges of the motor which is around Rs. 800/-.
The service centre & Kenstar both agree that this product is under Warranty and me providing a bill or warranty card proves that it is under warranty, if the product itself is a life time warranty and they too know the fact, wht is the need for the document. The batch number does state the warranty details for the company, if so why harras the customer whn they hav no doubt abt the warranty of the product.
It is obvious, that customer would loose the warranty card or the bill after the purchase of the product, if it is lost within a month of purchase, is it that the product is out of warranty or gurranty !!!
There should be some consideration, whn they know it is a model which is under warranty and also, the person representing Kenstar who takes escalations should stand by there word given & commitment. It is sad that Kenstar dont have one in Bangalore and that the reason there service is considered pathetic. They take there own sweet time in fixing the problem and have no response for custoemr queries.
Suggest all, to consider after sales service and stay away from Kenstar. There is no point considering if one has no value for the commitments given.
