Purchased the product one month back. It works very well. The honey comb pad causes good cooling effect and well suited for hot and dry places. Please do not try to use this cooler in Hot Humid places like Chennai. It works better in non costal area like Hyderabad Nagpur Delhi etc. Also please note that air coolers work well when your room has good ventilation. I have seen many people shutting the windows and using the cooler, finally blaming the cooler. This will increase humidity and cause discomfort. The ideal way is to keep the cooler where you get good external air from the room and windows well opened.
While the cooler is well fabricated, the manual is diagonally opposite to the product. It is very poorly documented. For example, the manual asks the user to run two wash and drain cycle to eliminate bad odor from the honey comb pad. But it has never mentioned how to do that. In fact there is a plug in the tank that has to be removed by opening one side of the cooling pad assembly. I could research and do that. But what about a person that has no time or mechanical brain? The unfortunate issue is that the company never cares for sending a post sale demo person too. It is disturbing.
I am an admirer of Kenstar products but for the above. So giving less stars for a product worth five stars.
However the product has a point that needs improvement. The LEDs in the panel are too bright to illuminate your bedroom and disturb your sleep. they have used high wattage LEDs. I overcame this by sticking sticker bindi to reduce the luminance.
How to run the drain cycle
- Fill the cooler with half tank water.
2. Run the cooler for at least 5-10 mts
- Take the cooler to a place where water can be drained.
4. Open one of the side panel and remove a black rubber plug at the bottom of the tank(This can be easily done following the diagrams on the product and the partially correct manual.
5. Replace the plug
- Repeat steps 1 through 5 and start using the cooler.
Caution Never try to remove the black rubber plug from the bottom portion or use any sharp instrument on the rubber part.
