Me and my wife visited Kenilworth Goa for Christmas 2006. When we came out of the airport, Hotel Staff was waiting for us at the airport with a name board. They took us to the resort in an Innova along with another couple. Resort & Staff: The moment we entered the Resort, we knew we chose the right location for our Christmas Celebration and vacation. The staff at the hotel was very friendly and we had a warm welcome. After we got ourselves freshened up, the front desk person asked us our options on the table that we would like to have for the Gala Dinner for Christmas( We got one of the best seat as per our choice). Room: We had opted for a Deluxe room with garden view. The room was spacious and well maintained. Even though it was Garden view, we could see the ocean from our balcony. Room has got Safety deposit box, mini bar, queen size bed and all other amenities. Surroundings: In the evening, we went out to explore the resort and went out to the beach( which is hardly 200 meters from the resort). Even in such peak season the beach was peaceful as it was more like a private beach. There are few shacks outside the resort from locals who were very friendly and helpful. Pool: The swimming pool was clean and we were in the pool everyday at least for two hours in the evenings. They also have a Pool Side bar. Sight Seeing: Our package included a Half Day sightseeing tour of Goa, which included a Spice Farm, church, mankeshi temple and some other place. This was the only wrong decision we made in the entire trip. We went for the sightseeing in a Tempo Traveler with the driver and his assistant. There was a total of 10 people in the vehicle in a 13 seater. There was no hotel staff or guide to assist the travelers. The driver was always in a hurry as if he has a deadline to keep. The places visited were not worth travelling and we just wanted to get back to the resort. Ayurvedic Massage: The ambience and serenity of the room was one of the best I ever felt. The music was very smoothening and the Massager knew what he was doing. It was so soothing, I slept off half was through the massage. Restaurant & Food: I can still remember the taste of the food that the hotel had to offer throughout our stay. Resort has a beach restaurant in which your table would be on the white sands and the staff would sing songs on your recommendation right next to your table. We also tried out Dinner from one of the shacks outside the resort. The experience was more than overwhelming. Our table was set in such a way that, the waves were hitting our feet. Sitting in the cold breeze with cool water flowing over your feet, the Candle Light Dinner out there is still one of most romantic dinner we ever had. Activities: Resort provide a variety of activities like Dolphin ride( boat ride) Para gliding etc. My advice is, do not take these options from the resort. If you walk along the beach for about 1Km or so, you will reach a public beach where all these activities are offered for half the price.( this is what I did). Dolphin ride is nothing but a Speed Boat ride through the sea. They take you a long way and it takes around 1 hour for the complete ride.( Do not expect to see any dolphins in this ride) Christmas Gala Dinner: Truly Spectacular. They had world class cuisines and the variety was so huge one cannot make up their mind on what to eat. They had cultural and western programs till midnight. They conducted spot prices for competitions, best couple dance, most romantic couple …. The party went on till Midnight and after the party we visited the Hotel Discotheque and spend another 1 hour there. Overall our experience was more than overwhelming in our trip to Kenilworth Goa.
