I use to live about 320 km from the Kaziranga National Park in Assam and used to go there via road journey which used to take me about 3 and a half hours one can reach there by air and rail means also

The way to the park is surrounded with mountains and beautiful tea gardens. There are about 4 parts of the park but you may talk to the locals there to know which part is best, there is no problem for accommodation in the parks  as there are 4 star hotels and even government cottages inside the park itself.

One can go for the jeep ride in the evening around 3:30 pm and can easily get a glimpse of the one horned rhinos, herd of deer, wild buffalo and  even wild elephants the luckier ones can even get a glimpse of the Royal Bengal Tigers which are about 85-90 in the whole park, there are many kinds of birds and small animals and one can even see small turtles on the banks of small brooks, but the jeep ride becomes a bit scary at late evening when you are departing the park as there are long elephant grasses there and you may not expect any animal to run over you. There are also elephant rides in the park early in the morning around 4:30 am but it is a very short ride and you have to pay a lot for that

The local sightseeing is not that attractive but one can visit the tea gardens and buy some tea there and also opt for trekking in the small hills there is even a fish farm near a famous tea store there where you can even buy aquarium fish for a very low cost about Rs 5-20 a pair ranging on the variety

To conclude the park is safe and secure but you may feel a bit insecure at times when you see a rhino or a wild elephant just a couple of yards or feet away from your jeep, you may also have to pay a specified amount of money to take your camera with you, and at times you may also have to share the jeep with another person due to the shortage of jeeps and the amount of tourists visiting the parks, and I recommend you not to eat food from any dhaba or outside restaurant as the food is made in very dirty environment and can make you sick with the staff wasting your time taking centuries to cook your food even common fritters

Have a safe journey!

Thank You
