Hi all,

I was in my teens when I first saw my uncle KB 100 ( 1987 model). I was facinated by the look of it. At that time ( good old 90s) that was one of the few cool bikes on road.

My uncle used to travel between Vadodara and Bharuch frequently and in one such trips took me along with him.

That ride was one of the most memorable event of my life. I was cruising at the speed of 100 kmph. Talking with the wind.

When I reached 18, I wanted to ride that bike. But my uncle ( who was quite obsessive about it) did not allow me even to touch it! I always dreamt of riding that bike one day.

Later when I graduated from college and started working I was in need of a vehicle. And my uncle had upgraded himself to a car and so that gave me an opportunity of my lifetime not only to touch the KB 100, but also own it.

When my uncle had bought her, she was a second hand. She was in a pretty bad shape. Except that even after not being used for a year or so, when we finally poured in Petrol, and she started with the First Kick. That really amazed me!

And that made me want her more. I revamped her by giving her a good service, a new "red" paint, polished the steel to remove the rust and replaced the old accesories like head lamps, tail lights, indicators, mirror etc..

The day I saw ( 3 years ago) it in this new "avtar" I instantly fell in love with her. And since then, I have been riding her. Finally, I could not only ride her, but own it too.

As everyone here has shared, she is a High Maintance Chick. She has a poor electric wiring. Her head and tail lamps keep getting fused. Other than this, she is a fun to ride, good pickup and can reach 70 kmph. However, her milage is not that great these days, at max 20 kmpl. Probably this is because I had to replace its piston recently cause I accidently ran out of oil and the engine jammed.

And unfortunately I did not give enough attention to her maintanence, and so now she is in shambles.

I thought of selling it or scrapping it,and go for a new bike. But she is my sweet heart, can't let her go that easily.

Well all the people around me think I am a fool to keep her. I just came across this site and realized that I am not the only fool in this world who is madly in love with her :-). So wanted to share my experience with you guys.

But I think every good thing has to end. So I guess I might eventually replace her with a new bike, though it would be a tough decision to make.

I think they have stopped the production, but if they were still producing it, I would buy a new one right away!

regards,

Srikanth
