I hate this bike! Most products are conceptualised with some philosophy in mind. Thats what provides them a soul. The Mercedes today stands as a symbol of precision and engineering supremacy. The Enfield bullet is true to it's form and function. It is an honest bike, not parading as something else.
When we consider this piece of manufacturing junk, and the culture of yuppies it has spawned, one can only shake his head in disgust.I have seen people wearing bandanas amd sleeveless t-shirts, showing stuck on tattoos masquerading as bikers on carter road in bandra.Have they any idea what the minimum engine requirements for a tourer are? a 173cc piece of scrap metal posing as a harley davidson is hardly what I would call a bike.
The funny part is the range of freaks you see adorning this bicycle. One would think they're WWF wrestlers, the kind who enter first and leave in 5 minutes on a stretcher. Absolutely apalling! The problem is they actually think they're astride something that would take them comfortably across India or something. Where harley davidsons cruise at 140kmph, these guys would be flying off the road at 90, because of the sheer feather weight of this thing.
The bottom line is to invest in vehicles with a soul. The Enfield bullet is right up there, a bike with purity and purpose, aloof from the pretences of an entire range of wannabe bikes, riding away when the other bikes are part of the landscape on an expressway, just because some truck passed them and so much as let of a bit of exhaust in their direction.True to the name, they'll be eliminated.
