In India, two wheelers have always been the common man’s friend. They have always been restricted to high mileage providing, moderate speed and moderate power vehicles. But the influence of Texas Torrents has brought about a change in the riders’ attitude. Everyone is on the look out of power, style and build. Cruiser Bikes are starting to rule the roost. They have become a fashion of sorts, so to say. In this lucrative field, the low-slung, bewitchingly bossy, Bajaj- Eliminator has come as a bombshell. The Indian answer to cruiser bikes, Bajaj Auto has designed this power machine for that needed kill. After the Bullet, the Eliminator has certainly made a mark. Let me give you an insight into the bike’s details.

The Bike: - The style and build of the bike makes your heart skip a beat the first time you have a look at it. It hot. Its spicy. Yummy and mouthwatering. It oozes style like the lava from Mt.Fuji. The low slung look and hence the low saddle provides the bike with the necessary trend. The chrome on the bike blinds you. With headlight, indicators, mirrors and back stand all chromed; the vehicle looks absolutely fabulous. The instrument pod has only the speedometer and with two mirrors firmly placed, the vehicle looks delicious with the chunky backrest. On the whole, the vehicle has an excellent build, a juicy one rather, giving that retro Harley Davidson look.

Strength and Suspension: - The double cradle frame chassis provide that rigid strength. With the cruiser not being subjected to under braking and the like, definitely it can handle the task on hand. The trailing arm, those sharply raked out telescopic forks and coaxial hydraulic shock absorbers provide that ecstasy-filled suspension. This is enough to ease the fatigue on long rides. With immense strength and impeccable suspension, handling the vehicle becomes very impressive. The grippy MRF Zappers add to the impressiveness.

Engine and Power: - Maybe, the cruiser might not match the much-hailed bullet in terms of power but certainly doesn’t dampen your enthusiasm to ride it. The upright 175cc, 4 stroke unit gives a boosting 15.2 bhp. The engine is employed with a two valve, single over head cam top end and a CV carburetor for precise fuel metering and exhaust gas recirculation. A catalytic converter controls emissions. What with 5 gears to boost, this body-builder emerges as a powerhouse.

Performance: - With all the 15 horses loaded here, the bike performs under all conditions. A top speed of 100 kmph can be reached and the bike is stable even at such peaking pace. Especially its ability to move long distances at a speed of 80-90 kmph, makes it all the more loveable. The braking is awesome and reliable. Even when put the testing levels, the brake doesn’t fail.

Efficiency: - As already said before, this bike is for the sheer ecstasy of riding it. Never has this power package been looked in the angle of being fuel-efficient. Rightly so. With a mileage of 45-50 kmpl in the beginning and 40 kmpl after a year, the bike justifies its stand. Considering some bikes like Hero Honda CBZ, this lovely beast is far better.

So the eliminator basically is a poseur’s delight. That bossy look, the shine and lustre, the power and the build naturally makes it an owner’s pride and envy for the onlooker. With a 14 litre tank, boy ‘o’ boy, one is set for a long ride down the countryside. That leaves us with one more question. Will she sit in the back seat? Come on. Why not? When the videshi babe loves to sit in a Harley Davidson, why on earth wouldn’t the desi chokri hesitate to sit on this Indian version of the Outlaw Bikes?

On the whole this awesome and roaring bike is a bewitching boss. With a sheer blend of style, power and efficiency, the bike shows no fatigue and is simply invincible. Who knows? If some day, the Undertaker, comes in for a shot at “The Rock” in India, then he might actually ride an eliminator. So as to say that he is eliminating his opponents. Maybe that is what, this bewitching boss, Bajaj Eliminator, is crying out loud.
