Tamil Cinema has usually two versions. One version dishes out memorable movies that can be the contenders for the best Indian movies ever and the other version limits itself to churning out brainless flicks. Kaththi Sandai, unfortunately, belongs to the second category.
Arjun( Vishal Reddy) is in search of a local don named Deva( played by Soori) and comes Chennai exactly for this. While in Chennai, Arjun falls in love with Divya( Tamannah) who is apparently a psychology student. Arjun tries to take help of Deva for wooing Divya( yes by stalking the girl!) and cooks up a story in his mind so that he can convince Divya to accept him. Arjun literally narrates the entire story of the Kamal Haasan’s flick Ek Duje Ke Liye to Divya and to everyone’s surprise, Divya falls for the story. In fact, Divya’s professor at college( played by Chinni Jayanth) tells her that she would be awarded a PhD in psychology, if she proves Arjun’s story to be true.
