Too often, we come across hindi serials where the married Indian woman always tries to compromise, understand and stand by her husband, no matter how wayward the husband’s ways get. With changing times, today’s woman is more independent, confident and has respect for herself just as she would respect her husband, parents, in-laws or any other relation for that matter. This is what makes this serial stand apart from the rest.

The story revolves around Pia, married woman for 6 years, who finds out by accident that her husband Anand is having an affair with none else than her own cousin, Ratna. She eventually finds out that this has been going on for about 2 years and she was kept in the dark. Her life changes forever.

In spite of being betrayed, angry and anxious about her threatened pregnancy, she decides to give her husband one month’s time to get out of the illicit relationship. But he is unable to do so and decides to go with the other woman. The day he declares his decision, she looses her baby. He feels sorry for her, but she wants no part of it and decides to move out. The one scene where Anand tries to patronize Pia, she just says “I know I have lost my marriage but not my self-respect was very well made.

Her new life after her failed marriage forms the remaining of the story.

So far, all the relations, emotions and scenarios have been kept very realistic and quite appropriate to current times. There is no overwhelming drama in scenes involving the revelation and aftermath of adultery, about Pia’s miscarriage, her anger and frustration about the situation she is in..all of these situations are very well articulated.

I love this serial so far, hope the writers keep up the good work!
