Kasautii is a serial that had started off with anurag and prerna's love story. They became friends during college days and fell in love. Prerna is rather was an interior decorator who has stopped working because she has too many ups and downs in life to worry about+ she is short of time as most of it is spent either crying, fighting, doing "shak" and recieving phonecalls from supposedly dead characters.
The story had a twist when anurag's mother who had a problem with middle class families decided to get anurag married off with komolika - a vamp. Anurag had to give in and married her. This is when anurag and prerna's first fights began. One fine day, God pours some sense into the mother as well as anurags head and anurag gets a divorce.
Anurag is supposed to marry prerna when Rishabh Bajaj - a business tycoon threatens prerna saying that if you do not marry me, I will take over Basu publications - Anurag and Moloy Basu's company.
Prerna feels that "uparwala uski mohabbat ka imtihaan lena chahta hai" and marries Bajaj without telling poor Anurag. Anurag and prerna have misunderstandings and fight again. Now the twist is that Bajaj has 3 children - Kuki, vishakha, tushaar from his first wife - ruby bhatia.
One day, prerna gets news that bajaj is dead and prerna marries anurag and have a child - prem
But then Bajaj pops out of nowhere and side - by - side prem gets kidnapped and dies.
Prerna and anurag fight again and prerna divorces anurag and marries bajaj. Anurag later on marries Aparna - another vamp who on the night of karva chauth "kills" anurag. But he survives because Debo - Father of Aparna's child tells him about aparna's intentions.
Durin the divorce, prerna is pregnant and gives birth to sneha who after 8 years develops cancer and to save her, has another child - Prem(Anurag is the father here) .They save sneha but prem is kidnapped by aparna and stays in her care for the next 20 years. Kasak is the only child of bajaj and prerna.
After 20 years, aparna appears again and prerna pushes her down a hill and aparna "dies".
Now, Anurag marries for the 4th time . this time a girl - Sampada who has loved anurag for a while phasti hai .
They live in peace for another 2 - 3 years when aparna re appears . from the grave to make sure that the harmony does not exist . She tries her stunts but is miserably put down by the 2 families . and she disappears . Probably returns to her grave.
Sneha marries a guy called sharad who happens to have raped her best friend - mukti .
Hence sneha divorces sharad and goes into depression.
Prem falls in love with mukti and on their marriage day, mukti dies . Now its prem's turn to go into depression.
A humshakal of mukti - devki appears and helps prem come out of depression. Now prem loves devki.
Finally sneha is marrying a person called omy in jaipur palace . where aditya pratap singh is the maharaja.
This person and sneha have a past that has not clearly been told.
I wonder if this marriage is ever going to take place and if this serial is ever going to end!
P.S - The funniest part is that even after 30 years . not a single person has greyed . they infact look younger!
