~Kareena Kareena-a breath of fresh air~. Review on Kareena Kareena

Kareena Kareena is, in my opinion, the best Hindi serial on Zee TV today. The serial focuses on the life of a bubbly girl, with a tendency to lie; however her lies are based on circumstances that arrive in her life at the wrong time.

Kareena, (played by Kulraj Kaur Randhawa, a new comer into Indian acting), leads a double life; both as an RJ at Radio Curry and the next as an executive secretary in Chamakar-a well-known detergent company.   The story starts off in Chandigarh, where Kareena lives with her mother Kawal, sister Jia, and her Dadu. Her mother chooses a guy for Kareena to marry; however Kareena does not like the guy (and you'll know why when you watch the show). Kareena decides to come to Mumbai to fulfill her opportunity of becoming someone. She is given a deadline by her mother, in which she must have some sort of accomodation as well as a job, in order to stay in Mumbai. Kareena finds a lot of support from her Dadu's two friends, Ali Chacha and a pandit, whose name I do not remember.

Anyway, Kareena finds some accomodation at her feisty rival, Padma Lakshmi's home, well known as the simple ''Pammi'', and stays with her while in Mumbai.   Eventually, the deadline comes near, and Kareena becomes desperate in her search for a practical job. Alas, she finds an advertisement for an executive secretary in a detergent company; however, the employer specifies that the applicant must be a married and traditional Indian woman.   Kareena, being fascinated in the job, as well as desperate, arrives at Chamakar dressed in a sari, with a mangalsutra, and sindoor. Right-away, the snobbish and arrogant employer in Chamakar, Nilambari Devi, (played by Vandana Gupta), hires Kareena, as she likes Kareena's perserved Indian traditional qualities and her values. This is where Kareena begins her work in Chamakar, known as ''Mrs.Kareena Sood''.

Now-more about how Kareena becomes an RJ Returning to her home from Chamakar, Kareena runs into her friend, Tanushree. Tanu is originally the one who gets the job in Radio Curry as the RJ; however, has to turn it down, since her boyfriend, Kunal is getting married back in Chandigarh, and she must go back to stop it from happening.   Tanu tells Kareena to go to Radio Curry and accept her position, since she would hate to she such a wonderful opportunity go down the drain. She tells Kareena that once she is back from Chandigarh, she will resume the position. Alas, Kareena becomes stuck with two jobs now; not only one. Kareena's boss, Prem Motwani, is quite stingy in his attitude with Kareena, and the same goes with Prem's mom, ''Naina''. However; it doesn't last for too long, since as days go by, Kareena becomes the apple infront of everyone's eyes. Soon, Prem begins to help solve Kareena's problems on a regular basis, when she persuades him into becoming ''Mr.Sood''.   So now her new, and fake husband is Prem infront of everyone at Chamakar. Kareena also volunteers to Nilambari Devi that her and Prem have a child. When Nilambari Devi asks what the child's name is, she blurts out, Tilu! So funny!!

Further along, we are introduced to Prem's girlfriend, Ruhi, (played by Ritu Kambo), who becomes unimpressed of the fact that Prem now does not have anymore time for her, thus making her feel insecure day by day. Kareena's Day to day Life Kareena begins her day at 8:30 am in the morning, hosting the hip and trendy show, ''What's your problem''. Once her hour long show is complete, Kareena has to rush to Chamakar, and begin her duties as a secretary. Changing from ordinary clothes into a sari becomes Kareena's daily routine. The husband of Nilambari Devi, who is known as ''Tribuvandas Pandey'', played by Sudhir Pandey, has a soft-corner in his heart for Kareena, and enjoys having her around in the office. Other members of the office, such as P.K and Monghia Saab, are wary of her, while others such as Piluji and Rajni, enjoy Kareena's company.

The day when Kareena realizes that she must tell the truth and quit working in Chamakar, fails: Kareena decides to finally resign from Chamakar, in order to stop lying and free herself from leading a double life; however, what she doesn't expect is to bump into ''Tusshar'', (played by Sandeep Rajora), the very cute looking son of Nilambari Devi and Tribuvandas.   Kareena falls for Tusshar as soon as she sees him, and Tusshar to is attracted to Kareena. However; when Kareena learns that Tusshar is the son of Nilambari Devi, she decides not to resign from Chamakar. As for Tusshar, he finds out that Kareena is ''married'', and seems to be quite disappointed, and Kareena has the urge to tell him tha she isn't married, but she cannot. Anyways, Kareena's crush on Tusshar becomes stronger each and everyday, and she tries many times to reach out to him in subtle ways. Tusshar begins to listen to Kareena's show every morning, and he falls in love with the RJ. Tusshar; however does not know that Kareena is also an RJ, so he doesn't know the face behind the person he's in love with.

Here comes Pammi again.. Pammi soon finds out about Kareena's double life, and soon she finds out that Kareena loves Tusshar. This is when Pammi plays her game in trying to steal Tusshar from Kareena, since Pammi feels that Kareena snatched her boyfriend, Danny, away from her. But it isn't true.

Anyway, the rest of the serial continues on from Kareena trying to win the affections of Tusshar, and having to deal with a lot of obstacles in her process of doing so. This serial is quite funny, and I think you will simply enjoy it.
