Size 0 and other Myths. Review on Kareena Kapoor

I have been in two minds whether to write this or not but Amrita's wedding made the tilt towards the pen(err. keyboard!)

Personally, I like all beautiful women and Kareena is no exception. It did not start like that because of her pale skin(others call it fair skin), somehow she was never so much Indian to me but then she got the attitude(on screen as well as off screen) which was kinda cool but was too much at times.

Though her acting skills might not get her an Oscar, the role in Chameli was very well performed. It is around the same time she was with Shahid which ended in 2007 only to start with Saif. This is all part of any celebrity life and we love to read about it.

Since 2007 your favorite Kareena has changed so much. Call it Saif's influence or the fear of loosing her position in Bollywood(may be'cos of her age or due to the limited characters she can shine in), she looks like she is trying too hard. Though I kind of know from papers that the arrogant version of her changed to more accomodative, the inner publicity seeking attitude has not changed at all.(Hint - Why don't we read so much about Rani in papers?)

Why would some one call Saif-Kareena as Brad-Angelina of India(or one of them countering it by saying it is vice-versa)?(let me not even talk about the mimicking Beckham's Hindi tattoo)

Size 0, which is nothing but Europe size 32 and this is a common size for any girls who are not obese and stand tall up to 5 feet 2 inches when compared to Kareena who is at 5 feet 5 inches. Size 0 becomes an almost unachievable feat for a regular European or American model who average more than 5 feet 10 inches. Kareena or Rani(in fact Victoria Beckham at 5.4) achieving it is theoretically very easy because of the average Indianheight for these stars is much lower.(This is the reason why Riya sen makes a comment " what is such a big deal about size 0, I have been that through out")

So what Kareena has done is to shed that extra fat and some healthy muscle as well to fit in one or two sizes smaller. Actually, I always get irritated when these celebrities sound as if they are making the earth spin other direction by getting these hot bodies. For example, PCD have awesome physique and they look totally delectable and I know for sure that it is hard work but hey. if you are promised to fame and huge some of money any tom, dick and harry who wants fame and money will do it. What Kareena does is the same. she wants money and fame and so she gets size zero because in her mind she thinks that size zero will get her more fame and money. I think that the real heroes are those people in my gym(or any other place) who work so hard and got those awesome bodies but unlike Salman or Kareena, go undercover as your next cubicle colleague!

Amrita's wedding - I have been seeing on TV. Is Amrita's career in dumps and that is why she is getting married? This is the scrolling text to cover her wedding on TV. The same anchor says at least 10 times, bride's maid Kareena looks gorgeous in peach dress. Hello, I did try to figure out what is so gorgeous either about the dress or about Kareena and to tell you what? the bride looked the best! And I am sure Amrita would be more happy with out that coverage than to have that silly scrolling text(though none of us are denying the factual quotient of the scroll text)

This TV coverage brings us to my point of concern. This is actually to all MBA students who are majoring in marketing. How do you sell a brand called Kareena?

Student(quip) - She is an average actress with a good pedigree

The Manager - Yes and that is the challenge. we do not touch the acting capabilities and we talk about the surrounding aura

Student - Aura? Where is the aura?

The Manager - Well, I know that. We need to build it. What do you think if mass media calls Saif-Kareena as Brad-Angelina of India

Student - Sir, you are brilliant

The Manager - That I am and that is why they pay me huge money. Let us see what more we could do. How about she gets Size 0

Student - It would be awesome for us to put in media. But will she do it? Stupid question, I am sure she will do it!

The Manager - How about using Amrita's marriage

Student - Sir, it would be unfair. Amrita is her best friend. It feels unethical.

The Manager - We do our job and it is not unethical. Let Kareena decide what is unethical.

The rest is for you to see on papers. I only wish that in this fame game, instead of ending up like Angelina she does not end up like Paris Hilton(actually the future looks like that!)
