Hi!
This one is for Aarti Kapoor @ mouthshut.com -- she reminded me of my long break and I promised her this review.
Well, back to the restaurant -- I opted for the place on the reco of my local contact. The seating space is not very large -- just about 9-10 tables in the covered area. So it gives you more of a home-like set up. A word of advice -- do not order for the mocktails if you wish to have the local feel. That is why we opted for the Veg Thali to get a feel of everything -- it begins with hot and spicy Rasam and it is good as a starter with Papad.
Then the main course which was a combination of all south - mixed vegetables, aviyal, sambar, small onion cooked in thick gravy (this is the best one), pickle, dahi-rice, banana veg and what not. This with a paratha followed by steamed rice. It was a real indulgence, believe me since I am used to soup and salad kinds for lunch. And then the sweet -- I do not recall the name but it was based on jaggery and wheat combination, hot and delicious. I wish they provided the post lunch nap as part of the offerings!
I hear they have a good combination of Manglorean and Andhra non-veg stuff as well. Anyway, I enjoyed the stuff to the maximum, and a word about the service quality -- definitely amongst the best. So next time you are in the city, make sure you try the place.
