Kapoor Dhaba – Mohali – Kharar Road
I had been out on a trip to Chandigarh handling certain finances of my father. Weary and tried, having travelled throughout the city in tough sweat, I had been on the lookout for some decent place to crash by. That’s when I came in the light of the Kapoor Dhaba.
To begin with, Kapoor Dhaba is located on the Kharar road that comes on the way to Mohali. For the sake of first impression, I wouldn’t go on a very high rating so as to deceive others by saying this looks great and all, but like they say ‘Don’t judge a book by its cover’, you wont believe the quality of food they share inside. Atleast it pleased me well above other restaurants standards.
We were two people and we ordered Butter Naan along with Chicken Korma and Chola Butter Masala. Now contrary to an exotic restaurants, its quite clear that a dhaba would have a cheaper dish and so does the Kapoor Dhaba. The dishes are fairly priced. So in terms of pocket friendly, I give it a thumbs up. Coming back to the dishes, the food was certainly greater than we had anticipated. I travel a lot and so have been to several food places but the Naan they delivered were the softest ever. The triangle shaped wheat magic just won my heart. The Chicken Korma and Chola Masala was good as well. Unlike typical dhaba food, there was a good balance of spices which is very rare for a dhaba.
Talking about the ambience, the dhaba is split in two parts – one outer region into the garden and the interior region. As far as I think, the inner part serves alcohol but I am not sure of it as we had been seated in the outside. The outside region ambience is aesthetic. Amidst green plants and beautiful flowers, the dishes taste better. The ambience is too good for a roadside dhaba.
The dhaba is managed by a Kapoor and his sons and is brilliantly done in that case. I would also like to point out that though this is a dhaba, there were a lot of families having their stomach’s stuffed here. So it’s a clear indication that the dhaba is good for families as well and there will be no issues for persons with kids and wife. The outer garden contained mostly families and less of individuals.
Finally, the service part. The dishes we had ordered took only 25 minutes to be served to us. In terms of services, I would rate them 5 out of 5. They were exceedingly polite with the customers and every waiter seemed to carry out his job with happiness and content. The place is maintained cleanly and well kempt. It’s a sure visit for people visiting this region. Go and drop by this Kapoor Dhaba for an incredibly tasty food at a cheap price.
