Kanha, beautiful place but for those who loves nature. Go there with enough time, money, courage and remember never go during festive season otherwise you will be cheated.
We went to Kanha Diwali - 2007, and it was horrible experience. We went there at around 2 noon, as we have booked our accomodation with MP tourism we logged in to hoel and met manager for arrangement of Safari. he said its difficult to arrange but he will try but be ready to spend extra money. Although he arranged Gypsy at regular rates and we went for safari. We asked Gypsy owner to come to next day safari he said OK but he never turned up and our half day got wasted. Manager did not gave us reposnse to this matter.
We came to know afterwards that we have booked that Gypsy for 740 INR, whereas someone else kidnapped our gypsy by paying 4000 INR.
Evening we found another Gypsy and had safari but after having 3 safaris and spending almost 5000 INR just for safari and entry free we did not get a chance to see tiger.
Kanha park is really beautifull place and forest deparment is trying hard to maintain the environment.
Few Tips
Never give money to gypsy wala before trip
Always take a Gypsy number and book your entry at forest gate well in advance, once you registered your entry, Gypsywala can not take other passengers.
Never go in festive season
If possible go with your own Petrol vehicle(it should be 4 x 4), so that you can go to park with your own vehicle. This will save your thousands
Guide is compulsory but most of the guides do not speak unless you ask them
Keep water with you
Keep woolen clothe during winter season
and Most Important thing, dont expect for tigers.very few lucky people can see tigers. Best season to see tigers is Summar.
