I 'm returning to write a review after a long time. My First one, being Dasavatharam, for which I received good response and encouragement. I went to this movie " Kandasamy " with an attitude of what new they have got to offer ? Just with the same attitude, I saw Gajini ( Tamil ), but I got very much interested and I liked Gajini ( Tamil ).That's a different issue, with Kandhasamy I was like as one of previous member's title " NONDHASAMY "

As, the story has been discussed quite elaborately by our member, I will rather touch some points. The plot has nothing new to offer, it's the same we have been seeing all along in Shankar's films. Especially, it resembles a lot like Sivaji, Anniyan, Ramana. I hate movies that can be predicted easily by audience. I for one, like a movie which keeps me guessing, of what will / can /going to happen next, or a racy narration. Kandasamy has neither, the plot gets predictable after it was revealed that both IPS Kandasamy and the Super Hero are the same. It's fine just because they wanted to make it a Super Hero film, to say that the hero takes super human efforts to solve the problems of the people.

But the lengthy scenes, untimely comedy tracks and couple of songs tests your patience severely.

Vikram's sequence as a rooster where he takes on Mansoor Ali Khan is too long, similarly the lady get-up... it's really bad, vikram just did not fit in as a lady. When there were close-ups he just looked like Aanazhagan Prashanth, even if it's for a scene, he along with his technicians should have done more homework to get the look atleast somewhat convincing. I would not compare his performance in this film anywhere close to his Anniyan, he did a good job in Anniyan, but here he is just about adequate, nothing much to write upon. Vikram looks nice and charming than in any other film.

Shreya does what she does best. Again she is more beautiful in this than any of her films so far. There are some crispy romantic scenes between Vikram and Shreya, where one goes after another in a cat and mouse game. The scenes would have been better only if performed well, because it had scope. Considering Shreya's acting talents ( whether she has ? ) we can pass it on.....

Vaadivelu, actually is a relief in this boring saga. His track must have been an after thought, because it's a separate comedy track, where he does not even have one combination scene with the protoganist. They must have watched the film in it's production stages and realised that adding a comedy track is essential. But to some stories it will prove disaster, this is one such instance. It actually puts brake on the momentum, but having said though Vadivelu excelled in his little part. Just that this story does not require it.

The Villians - what can I say ? Ridiculous portrayals by Ashish Vidyarthi and I guess the other one is Tiwary. Aashish overacts in most of his films, apart from Gilli, I did'nt like him at all. It stays the same even in this film. YGM as his associate does well, but i'm surprised what made him accept this role which does not have too much to do. I think Raghuvaran is slated for Aashish's role, just because he passed away the role was offered to Aashish. Could have tried Nasser or Nizhalgal Ravi for that role.

Prabhu, as an investigating officer is more appealing as a Police Officer than Vikram as an IPS. Though, he seriously needs to think of trimming down a bit since he is doing more films now. Telugu Actor Krishna ( who till 10 years did college student roles ) as a senior to Vikram, with his thamizh in telugu accent is horrible. Again the casting error, according to me, Sarath babu might have fit in far better and he has the physique as well to play a top police officer.

Coming to the technical aspects, the look of the film is rich and sleek. The real and only hero of the film is it's cinematographer Ekambaram. He has captured everything so beautifully, including the lead pair.

Music is Good. Though atleast couple of songs were too much, it hampers the pace of an already slow, dragging affair. But with RR, Mr. Prasad has a long way to go.

Directed by Susi Ganesan, I liked his Thiruttu Payale very much, that's the reason I decided to watch this one, but in this he has concentrated more on decorating aspects rather than the main plot, tried a short cut to success but fails miserably. Better Luck Next time !!

Produced by Dhanu, who talks a lot and do things for the sake of it. He and Mr. Abirami Ramanathan who bought the city rights to 4 crores will do all sorts of promos to make the film work. But on a whole it's an irritating experience to watch this.
