Hi frnz,

First of all sorry for the delay. I posted the request for this movie in MS database last week itself. But, in my company they blocked MS. So that this much delay.

Another good film 4m the director of 'Kutti', Janaki Viswanathan. The film travelled in lot of plots.... the main plot was 'reg. Devadhasi', one cast like ppl who were giving themselves to God virtually, and one person gave them support in all forms, and take FULL control over them. Then the film went to some 'going to US' principle in one scene, and the current cinema 'principle'(?) (''Why are you crying? For not understanding Boys Lyrics or For the marriage of Simran?''), the modern girls' views, etc. Even the director was going into these plot, the main plot wasnt disturbed. She handled the screenplay in a neat manner, having a subject like 'prostituition'.

Some of the beauties in screenplay...

One fellow was always talking about Cinema...yeah... always. Even when he consoled one another fellow who was crying. (the same scene I explained earlier)

When all other were calling the hero by his name, when he came to his native after some years, he found his early days' girl friend, she called him by his nick name.

When he brought back his amma(who's also a prostitute for few years) to his wife's home, his wife didnt accept her. But, even then, he didnt loose his patience. That was his real character. The character handled this very carefully.

When the fellow who was the reason for the death of many ppl, 'coz of his factory, became an MLA in feature. Surely, this is the situation today.

The director showed the hero's daughter's ego, even after she wanted to talk to him, when some ppl called him APPA.

Like this lot of scenes showed director's talent in the film. (Her command over the film??)

The music by (Late) Mahesh. Surely I felt verymuch about his loss after hearing ''Thaalamboovey Vaada'' song, with the fantastic voice of Ramya Krishnan. Anyhow, he discovered one singer. The re-reco was done by 'Kottu puli'. Wow... I think, he did well. He was just few steps behind IR's Re-reco. Actually he did well than ARR in some places.

The camera was also good. Esp. in Thalampoovey vaada song.

The song ''Thaalamboovey Vaada'' had been taken in an island like place. ie: showing RamyaKrishnan n his son(hero) were living separately, even they lived among their fellow ppl. Good work by the cameraman. But, he should have done sth more, in this new generation camera Yuga.

The editor should be specially mentioned. 'coz, he edited the film in a neat manner, even the director went here and there with his lot of plots. With just few dialogues, or with some scenes he did his job in a fine manner.

The director found a different RamyaKrishnan. And brought out a well Hero. But, I think in Tamil film Industry, he will be used in appa characters only. ;-)

The film had some draw backs too. Why the hero spoke with some irritating voice in the first scnes. Might be, the director wanted to say, the hero was working for ppl, even without caring his health. But, I think, it wouldnot be the correct manner to show that.

After few years, the whole village was going to be a mini-prostitution area... How?? How was it possible? Wasnt there any police?? And, how all others accepted to 'do' that??

But, these things could be easily avoided, if you take the neat straight forward screenplay. But anyway, as said in one magazine's revu, 'it didnt create any such feelings created by Kutti'. True!

P.S: The above things are only my views. No intention to hurt anybody. If you find the same, pardon me.

Thanx n Regards,

Athi
