This film offers nothing new to the Romatic Comedy genre, hence you'll find good locations, well executed stunts, a bunch of Hollywood stars doing cameos, nice clothes, bit of slapstick comedy, two Bollywood stars, good looking girls, well shot songs and'voila' a movie in your local cinema.

That is exactly what'Kambakkht Ishq' is - of course someone like myself would want to see more of a storyline rather than a bunch of gimmicks but since the directors intentions were not of winning accalim and accolades but simply getting a movie together which can be termed as a decent summer movie, I dont think he disappoints, yes there are better'Romatic Comedy' films around but because they are good, that doesn't by any means, make this a'not good' movie

The first half of the film is just based on a couple of gags and arguments with the lead couple and at this point you don't see the story moving ahead at all. Of course since its a big commercial Akshay Kumar starrer you'll find situations such as protein shakes have Viagara mixed in, a wedding turns into a mass brawl over a bottle breaking on someones head, a man suddenly sees a friend named Jack in a plane and shouts'HI JACK' causing other passengers to almost have a heart attack, you'll see a big LAX security official checking deeply into Akshay's backside for drugs. Now if you add Akshay Kumar with Kareena Kapoor, you'll find another weird situation

While operating on Akshay, Kareena's watch happens to fall into Akshay's body - the watch happens to have an alarm that goes off, every one hour with the tune'Om Mangalam'

Now this is how serious this film is, basically not serious at all, so judging this film in an overtly critical manner would be a shame on one's self because its not taking itself seriously and neither should anyone else.

Akshay Kumar doesnt step a foot wrong in a role which requires him to perform the stunts well and make sure the comc timing is right, these are the kind of films that do have a strong market and Akshay Kumar in the lead role of one of these films is always a plus point. Kareena Kapoor, again doesn't step a foot wrong in the film, infact her character happens to be the only one in the movie which requires a little acting and we know she passes that with flying colours and if anyone's interested she looks outstanding in the movie. Ample support is provided by Aftab Shivdasani, Amrita Arora(looked fantastic), Kirron Kher, Boman Irani, Brandon Routh, Denise Richards, Vindu Dara Singh. Javed Jaffrey again performs horribly, yes the role wasn't good at all but seriously how long is he going to continue the same role that he did in Salaam Namaste, he was rubbish in 8x10 Tasveer and he is worse in this!

A special mention for Sylvester Stallone, as I have grown up being a fan of the legend. The scenes you see in the trailer are the scenes he has in the film but for me it was great to see him in an Indian film utter the words'Kambakkht Ishq' and have a Bollywood action scene. This film may not be remembered for anything else but it will be remembered for Stallone's first Bollywood movie, even if it were a special appearance and that is a FACT!

Wasn't much of a fan of the music when the album released but after watching the film I've began to like them. I think that has to do with they way the songs have been placed at regular intervals and they happen to be well shot too. I even liked'Bebo Dedo Lelo' which I was laughing at before.'Lakh Lakh' happens to be my favourite from the movie. The stunts are well done too, of course using Akshay's character as a stuntman as an excuse, you dont mind them!

In a Sajid Nadiadwala production, the one thing that you now is that the production values are going to be of the highest standards and'Kambakkht Ishq' happens to do no different and its technical aspects are on par excellence!

Since it's Sabir Khan's first film, I dont think he's done too badly, keeping in mind that Sajid Nadiadwala has backed him.

If your looking for a film to educate yourself, stay away - if your looking for some logic that you can use for your own life from a movie, stay away

but if your the kind who doesn't mind watching a film with a straight forward storyline, decent performances, good songs, very good stunts, nice locales, cameos by Hollywood stars, a bit of slapstick humour - then yes, 'Kambakkht Ishq' is a decent outing!
