Unexpectedly good movie by the Bhatt camp!. Review on Kalyug

Just finished watching the movie at DVD.

So how was the movie? Must admit it was interesting.It was a good effort by the Bhatt camp to provide us a fresh story with a fresh star cast.Infact for me it ws unexpectldly good.Without familiar faces or major promos aired, I kid of expected it to be a forgettable kind of movie.

So long we have been watching ''old wines in new bottles'' packaged kind of movie.So the flaws in the such movies are always visible, and always gets us irritated when we see the same movie over and over again may be in a different package.

In today's movie market the only survival is to make movies with fresh stories and cast.This way we also get fresh....

I wont say much of the plot as already countless reviews have already been written where plot is revealed.So I will restrict myself to the review, comments etc.

Lets say why I said its a fresh plot?Ok, the movie had a villain(Amrita Singh).And a hero(Kunal Khemi) who wanted revenge.We also have a great cameo who plays Good samaritan at the crucial moment(Emraan Hashmi).The the basic plots are basically same as in all movies.

But what was fresh was we have the villain runing an Indian porn business somewhere from Zurich and runs the show by scandals.She materminds by getting ordinary people private life to public in her website.Ok the plot does not sound like a family movie.Yet it was beautifully handled by the Bhatt camp.Nowhere in the movie may it seem that the movie is a porn flick....

And the concept of villain is new.Not like Gabber Singhs, or Amrish Puris kinds.Just a a lady who appears simple, who explains her business by demand & supply.She said that Ok she stops doing her business, but that alone will not stop others, because demand is always there.......well that is a point to ponder.......

And also what was fresh was the revenge factor.We have seen in countless movies where heroes are avenging the deaths of their lover or parents.Here we have the hero avenging the very villain who destroys ordinary people by scandals.

And the third fresh factor was the fresh faces.And also Amrita Singh as the villain, which was the surprise package.

Coming to acting, I'd give full marks to Amrita Singh and Emraan.

Amrita Singh is the surprise package of the film.Really convincing.May be she may even get awards for this.....

I have seen Emraan in the movie ''Murder''.He was Ok in that.But in this cameo he was superb.the earlier movies made him look almost wooden.But in this not only he has improved, but he does succesfully leave indelible mark and show his talent.His role is short but does enough to create an impression.his best is yet to come.....

The rest of the star cast were average.The new actors were surprisingly average, and did not seem inexperience.Perhaps the credit for this goes to the producer/director.Overall its a good effort by the Bhatt camp.Songs were average.

The movie should do well in Multiplex and DVDs.
