Ho ho hmmmmmm!!. Review on Kalash

I had seen a few episodes of this serial when it started in India...thought it was quite novel and different(just hate that term!!). I caught the first few episodes there and then we moved abroad.

Now we are in Malaysia where the cable TV channels just SUCK!! So,when they started this serial,I got very excited because I remembered that I had really really liked the first few episodes. My high hopes came crashing down like a house of cards...this serial turned out to be as illogical as the other Ekta Kapoor serials.

The story started by introducing us to a PUNJABI family...who had adopted their dead brother's daughters and had two sons of their own. Everybody loved everybody else very much(like the Teletubbies!!). The girls were quite opposite to each other so far as temperament is concerned.The older one (Bulbul)was footloose&fancy free...had a boyfriend, lied and went out of station with her boyfriend etc.etc.The younger one(Rano)was the ideal seedhi-saadi ladki..her only drawback...she ate too much and was always hungry. Both the boys,especially the older one,was hugely neglected by the script-writer.

One fine day taayaji&tayeeji found out about Bulbul's trip with her boyfriend and decide to get her married off. She wants to get married only to the boyfriend but the boyfriend(Sanjay)wants to live with her because he does not believe in marriage. So,Bulbul decides (in a fit of anger and heart ache)that she will marry the next guy who comes along. To our bad luck, Ram(Amar Upadhyaya)enters our lives(why oh why??!!) and Bulbul&Ram get married. They have a baby girl...and Bulbul starts feeling trapped in her marriage&motherhood...and decides to leave the house,her baby and starts living with Sanjay.

After a lot of shor-sharaaba taayaji decides that Rano should get married to Ram because the baby needs a mother and Rano being the ACHHI-LADKI agrees.The age-old naatak that''jab tak tum nahi chahogi main tumpar koi hakk nahi jamaaongaa blah blah...''their life goes on. The day Rano decides that she is TAYYAR to becomes Ram's WIFE Bulbul comes back into their life because Sanjay's parents & ex-wife throw her out of his house. Again after much naaatak things are resolved and Bulbul returns to Sanjay.

And it was at this point that I thought that the story should be getting over...but Ms.Ekta Kapoor had aces(!!)up her sleeve!!Rano was diagnosed with the last stage of cancer and she was only CHUND DINON KI MEHMAAN!!Her mission in life now:to bring Bulbul&Ram back together.

Bulbul madam very conveniently walks out of Sanjay's life back into Ram's...leaving him huffing and puffing with anger and revenge.So,can anybody guess what he does to achieve that...he becomes a C.B.I.Officer....cool,eh??!! Again after a little rona,dhona,drama and idiocy the serial(thankfully)came to an end!!

People might ask me...if you found this serial so irritating...why were you watching it??Haan,haan...poocho,poocho....bhai,dil hai hindustani issliye watching hindi serial is like an addicion to me.

Before I go,I would like to add a few more comments:

midway through the serial Amar Upadhyay left it and was replaced by Aman Varma.The less said about this guy the better.He is such a lousy actor...this is the understatement of the century!!Copies(actually,tries to)Amitabh Bachhan and makes a total mess of things.
