So where is the monsoon? In the tears that few men shed rarely or in the skies over India? This monsoon is no different in the skies, but the men out there are becoming more open about shedding their tears.

A lot of what I write on Mouthshut gets commented upon. There are ''Hate Amrita'' yahoo groups. There are group postings that have passionately tried to link me as a tart, who is ''having an affair with its ceo, Faisal''. Others have labelled me as a ''character closely associated with Mouthshut.'' I ignore them. I ignore the ignominous comments I receive after I write my reviews.

Some call me ''troublemaker'' who rises ''when the traffic is low on Mouthshut''. It is true that I don't write often, and as a matter of fact of late I have not been writing much on mouthshut at all, but I have been following, rating and commenting on reviews of my interest and reviews of those on my trust list.

I am known for my negative reviews. I have been asked if I ever like anything. Frankly speaking, I love loads of things, but I say-it-as-is on Mouthshut about products and services that I hate. My only fault is I say it before others dare to say; most do agree with my views sooner or later.

Example: I was the first to cut Times of India on Mouthshut and now I am seeing more and more people are becoming vocal about their frustration with that porn publication.

I was the first to ''Dare to Bang the hype of Bangalore'' and expose the ''hype'' surrounding Bangalore. Boy oh Boy now our man Azim Premji and Narayan Murthy are complaining about Bangalore. I remember when I first wrote my review on Bangalore, I almost received ''threats'' from self-proclaimed 'Defenders of Bangalore'

I was the first to predict on Mouthshut that Hrithik is a one flick man and his father's hype brought him all the fame https://mouthshut.com/readreview/5952-1.html

So Amrita is no troublemaker but a honest and explicitly honest reviewer for your benefit. Allow me now to begin my review (this time a positive one) on a movie that I love and a star I admire.

Kal Ho Na ho, I wish kal ho, has this amazingly lovely trio- SRK, Saif and Preity Zinta.

PLOT:

-----

A simple plot- not a mysterious one like in most Bollywood movies. SRK is good at his emotional deliveries and that's what been captured in this movie. If you haven't experienced the feeling of being in love with a man in a long time, watch this movie and arouse yourself to the warmth of being in love. The movie has all the ingredient of a typical bollywood movie. The plot deals with Shahrukh Khan who is dying of brain problems and how he falls in love with Priety Zinta and has to sacrifice his love as he is not going to live for more than one month. The other impressive idea I loved in the plot is the relationship fiascos. Preity-Jaya Bachan and grandma triangle. It's something so common in many extended Indian families.

SRK's interaction with his own mother is commendable and like a true SRK movie, this one has a strong emotional Sharukh attached to his mother.

The concept of forgive and forget and compassion is dealt in a subtle manner. The manner in which Jaya Bachan forgives her husband of his infidelities. Everything is so well co-ordinated, well planned and well thought out in this movie.

They show an American wedding in this movie and that too has been planned well. Most wedding celebrations in the US take place during afternoon, and this movie has not blundered that fact by showing a typical Indian celebration of evening. So their research was pretty well.

ACTING:

----------

Need I say more than it's SRK at his best. Preity and Saif at their best. No one can make me cry except Shahruk and his non-pretentious ways of communicating with his woman in movies. He's dying in this movie and he wants to die without causing grief-(just what he is good at!)

Preity did well to prove herself as a fine actor once again, unlike the small town bimbos Mallaika Sherawat and company, who've hijacked Bollywood of late.

Saif the man is the happy go lucky man once again.

CINEMATOGRAPHY:

-----------------------

Can't complain. I would rate it 8/10. Shots in NY etc were well picturised. Shots from Brooklyn bridge, scenes on the Jersey Harbor, etc are all breathtaking. Scenes around wall street are screaming out loud- this is New york.

SOUNDTRACK:

------------------

I'm still humming..Har Ghadi Badal Rahi hai roop zindagi. That reminds me, it's chaon outside. Dhoop nahi. Loved all the numbers, including the disco. The music is excellent and original.

SUMMARY:

------------

Kal Ho Na Ho is a family entertainment. You can watch it with your parents and not feel uncomfortable. It has two of the leading actors of the day and Preity is not a small town woman who's trying to make it big in Bombay. I am sick to the core of my heart of all this skin-flick and sex-movies being released.

Guess who's leading the sex-flicks in Bollywood-all these small townies from Haryana and Rajasthan. Women like Sherawat and wannabes like Manisha Koirala.

SRK is defining a new standard of acting and his female partners in the movies are equally gracious in most of their scenes.

This time spare me oh Amrita bashers. This time I am actually recommending a movie. This time I am not questioning the nonsense of Baazee.com (Oh yes, Baazee claimed 2.2 million members once when I checked their website. Now that number has come down to 1 million in the ebay announcement.) Who's lying Amrita or Baazee. Who lied? Amrita or Baazee.

Why did I switch topics? The Baazee ghost is present everywhere in the Indian internet scenario. This review was about Kal Ho Na Ho. An excellent movie. If you haven't watched it yet- do it today.
