As the story unfolds, you get acquainted to a budding writer who is slowly meandering towards completing his first novel. The viewer is made known of the writer's powerful(but uncompleted) work through the words of one of the foremost of the contemporary literati. You then get acquainted with the writer's lost love who happens to re-enter his life at the same time he is going through a writer's-block. You also get acquainted to his new found friends who believe in his power of writing and want to see his work get published. You witness the writer surmounting his blocks, drawing spirit from the pleasant breeze of love that his lost love brings to his now nondescript existence.

And when everything seems to be progressing right, a few incidents happen that completely upset our calculations. This is the most striking aspect of the movie. The last 20 minutes including the climax has almost nothing to do with three-fourths of the movie. I don't want to steal the thunder by revealing any more.

When the movie was over, I stayed silent and mourned the happenings for a couple of minutes. And then it crossed my mind that the Director was probably stupid to end the movie the way he did. The ending seemed so unelegant. But as you think more, it slowly dawns on you that the director has infact out-thought you and intelligently captured cruel reality in the most effective way possible, as sharp, abrupt and unelegant as it can actually be. And thats when a couple of tears form in your eyes and you start feeling goosebumps.

And here iam, writing a review in the hope that people reading this also feel the urge to watch the movie. If you understand Malayalam and have an inclination to watch a plain, simple movie devoid of the regular masala crap, then go for this. I am sure you would be touched.

Hats off to Ranjith for pulling it off in such a way. The entire cast acted reasonably on screen. Mammooty seemed a bit jaded in a few scenes, but then its a slow paced movie and sometimes you just can't do when the camera is stuck on your face for 2-3 mins. Kushboo was good. Mukesh was at his usual best.

In keeping with the movie, I have tried to keep my review as simple as possible. Hope you guys like it.
