Kaibalyadham is a a temple dedicated to the famous spiritual Guru and Mystic Ram Thakur, of Nineteenth Century. who was an Avtar of Lord Vishnu as per the belief of his thousands of devotees in West Bengal, Tripura and neighboring country Bangladesh. He is termed as "SatyaNarayan".

"Kaibalyadham" temple is located in Jadavpur, a prime location in South Kolkata. It is a well built temple( Ashram) very near to Jadavour 8B station. It is also called as Ramthakur Ashram by local people. It is only a 10 minutes rickshaw ride from 8B. My entire family is an ardent follower of Sri Ram Thakur and I too visited this place many times since my childhood.

As I have already mentioned that it is a Ashram, the place bring in a sense of peace in your mind once you get in to the premise and sit down in front of the Photo of Thakur. The building is colored in red and white and looks really nice with marble flooring vast premise where the devotees can sit for hours!

The ambiance is good and there is a well planned flower garden in the ashram premise and on the left side the main temple is located whre daily Puja and prayers are organised.

The office building is located just behind the garden, and the Prasad room is also located inside. You can have BHOG( prasadam) here and you need to purchase coupon in advance from the office room counter. I had this Bhog lunch so many times in my life! They only offer simple veg meals, but may be with the divine grace of Ramthakur, the taste of prasadam is so great. plenty of visitors coming to this place never miss this opportunity to having this meal, only cost you Rs. 30 per head.

On special occassions like akshaya tritiya, a lage number of people come here and offer Puja and also get prasadam. Often, you have to stand in long queue, but the authority is very disciplined and  strict here, so I have never seen any kind of unorganized things happening. So, it is really a great thing for an ashram or temple in Kolkata.

In the evening time, daily Aarti is also done here with puja and prayer. At the end of all these daily rituals, devotees again stand in a queue to get the Prasad of evening Puja. It is not a meal, but a delicious combination of milk, sugar, semolina mixed with delicious sweets like Sandesh and Rosogolla. This is a typical prasad for Ramthakur and it is referred as SINNI.

Ram Thakur was a spiritual Guru for the untouchable, downtrodden people as well as for the elite people. He wanted to bond people from all religions together and this Sinni prasad indicates this concept only, as it has been offered to Pir Darga of Muslim Community people. So, he is worshiped by all. irrepective of religions. He also advised not to follow any strict rules while offering him Puja, a person is allowed to enter to the temple even if he is going through Matri or Pitri Dasha. so he was really liberal and popular among the people.

You can also purchase several books related to his life and philosophy in the office counter. This ashram is still not much commercialized and I sincerely hope this one to be as simple and pure as possible. If you are religious minded, you can visit this place irrepective of your caste, creed and religion, Ram thakur is for all of us. I am recommending Kaibalyadham.
