Kabul Express is the story of two Indian Journalists who are in Afghanistan in the post 9/11 events. Suhel (John Abraham) & Jai (Arshad Warsi) are there to find the most sought after story i.e. interviewing a Taliban. In this story spanning 48 hours of their lives, they meet Jessica (Linda Arsenio) an American photojournalist, Imran (Salman Shahid) and Khyber (Hanif Hum Ghum) their guide.

Imran is a former Pakistani Army man who needs to run back to his country after America has destroyed Taliban regime. The story moves and somehow our heros’ help him to reach his country where a surprise is waiting for Imran.

Though the movie starts off very well, it becomes predictable with the due course. Showing the human sides of a former Taliban, typical Bollywood style Pakistan bashing, blaming Pakistan for everything happening in Afghanistan. In movies like this expectations are altogether different.

PLOT: I don’t know what was in the director’s mind when he made this movie. For me it was like creating some sympathy for Taliban. There are many hidden facts in Afghanistan and this movie has not even exposed one. Alas what the movie showed was a human side and deprived us of hard reality that is in places like Afghanistan. This movie served no purpose and tried to gain audience’s applause by showing that people there love Bollywood and hate Pakistan. Overall no homework done on this front.

CLIMAX: Anybody who has seen hindi movies can tell you the story of this movie after first 45 mins. Thus in order to make these predictable movies interesting is the flow of events. There again our poor director lost the ideas.

CAST: Arshad Warsi is fast evolving as a good actor off late. His comic timings are good and for me was the only reason to see this movie till end. Hanif Hum Ghum was impressive. And please someone tell me when John will start acting?

GOOD POINTS: Though very few but I liked when one person calls for a taxi in the start and a tank comes rolling. Debates on who is the best cricketer, Arshad and his cigarettes, who started war in Afghanistan were really good. One thing worth to note was that who had the gun, won the debate.

Overall KE was a big disappointment for me. I had high hopes from this movie but this is a tricky topic to make a movie and I think the effort fell short. If you have not seen the movie don't worry, you have not missed anything.

Thankyou very much for reading this review. Waiting for your valuable comments.
