Wow...this movie was seriously well promoted in Malaysia, and just about everybody I know wanted to watch it. I consider Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham to be quite a good film actually. Compared to most Bollywood films, this movie seemed to have a more solid plot (maybe I haven't watched too many Bollywood films?). The cast was a whole lot more
mature than usual, and their characters were portrayed well.
I loved Kajol in this flick because her character provided almost all the comedy relief and seemed more real.
Her sister (Pooja I think...)on the other hand, I found extremely annoying, and frankly I don't know why those guys were lining up to date her.
Anyway, the sudden love Rahul and Anjali found for each other seemed typically Bollywood so I didn't question that. The love between Rahul and his mother, brother, and father was pretty clear and I totally felt for his mother especially when they were separated. I totally love for her for confronting her husband about the whole thing. She totally defies the whole traditional wife thing where the wife just accepts whatever the husband decides.
Overall, the movie was good, and provided good laughs, although I spent quite a bit of time crying my eyes out...
The movie's quite good if you're willing to ignore the mistakes and overacting and silliness of some parts.
