I would say that KJ has again hit the jackpot with this film. He knowa the pulse of the people and how well!!!!!!!!!!!

He surely is ageing with grace and so are the stars in the movie. It was nice to see Shah Rukh Khan not romancing a girl around a tree or singing madly in the rain. But a more sombre and a little lame, with a heart ful of anger and remorse.

Why am I even discussing the stars who enacted the roles so flawlessly. Rather I saw the 4 characters who were etched out of the hearts of the urbane population. I would rather throw light on

DEV SARAN, RHEA SARAN, RISHI TALWAR, MAYA TALWAR and SEXY SAM.

I dont need to tell you who is who because all of you have read many a review on this movie.

Dev Saran- A person doing well in life, for whom his career is chalked out. Who has everything on a golden platter suddenly finds his world turned upside down. He doesnt know what has hit him, leaving him sullen, moody, morose and unforgiving. He does not even spare his child from his rancour. He goes thru his humdrum life playing second fiddle to his career oriented wife. He has time for nitty gritties of life where as she has no time for all these things.

Rhea Saran- Thrown into a situation where she becomes the breadwinner of her family not out of choice. She has a high profile job witha lot of demands on her time from the office. She has no time for small pleasures that life has to offer, not even go and see her son play football.

Rishi Talwar- High flying PR consltant, loves his wife and work immensely. He has a problem of showing public display of affection where his wife is concerned. There is nothing common in their interests.

Maya Talwar- Dissatisfied with life for what it has dealt out to her, she is unable to bear Rishis child. So she is already suffering from a guilt complex. She is not sure why she married Rishi. maybe she felt safe and secure with him, but not in love. She has not found true love who can make her feel like a woman and sweep her off her foot.

Though Dev and Maya, with all good intentions try and sort out their differences with their spouses, it does not work. Instead they fall in love with each other seeking solace in their incomplete world, becoming each others agony aunt and soul mate all at once.(something theitr own spouses could not give them).

These characters are real life characters, played larger than life on screen by our stars. They displayed the greyness in the nature that we all possess. Happiness touches ones life but sorrow touches a persons heart. Their common sorrow brings them together and both feel complete in each others company.

The end of the movie is quite unconventional. It raises a question about a marriage that has gone stale, sour and meaningless. Should a person be allowed to live his life again with a different companion or carry on with the burden of a dead marriage. This solution is not impossible in this fast paced life.

Already we see people like this in our offices, and neighbour hood seeking company and solace from another person. It can be me, you, our parents, children, spuoses etc. It is happening every where, we just have to accept it.

KJ has done a good job as usual.

Shankar Ehsaan Loy are also good. Songs made more sense when seen on the screen.

Sharmishtha Roy has done well with the Art and Farah Khan has exelled with her choreography.

An overall superb movie needing a very mature and open mind to accept the ending.
