I am writing this review to express the agony I went through while watching this movie. Its rather unfortunate that I saw this one :-(.
For starters the movie is painfull to watch and I dont know whats there for people to cry continuosly. Its quite annoying that Rani Mukerjee cries all through the movie.
The plot
I am sorry to say that the plot is baseless and at the end of the movie you start the wondering why the hell did they tell all these. The movie starts with Saran(Khan) scoring a goal in a football match. Hes an ace football player who plays a match on his wedding anniversary(duh) and his wife Rhea is a fashion designers who attends an interview on her wedding anniversary (duh-duh). And finally Rhea(Preity) calls Saran to tell that its their anniversary. Rishi(Abhishek) and Maya(Rani) are to get married on the same day(what the hell) and Saran attends the wedding on request from her loving wife Rhea. All these happen at the start. What a mess?? Rishi lies drunk on his wedding day and Maya is sitting on a park bench cleaning the park in her wedding dress. Saran passes by and advices Maya to marry Rishi. Remember they are total strangers and hence Maya agrees to marry Rishi. Could you beleive it??You must be wondering what on earth is going on. Are we talking about mentally sane people?? (I am not lying and dont think I am crazy. I am just telling y'all what I have gone through. If this is the start, imagine!!).
Moreover I dont know whats compelling for Maya to leave Rishi and fall for dumb Saran. And though he is jobless I donno where he keeps travelling in the suburban trains. That too daily.
I just give a short intro on the crux of the story. So the lesser said about the story the better. Oh and I forgot Mr. Amitabh must have acted in the worst ever role he has done in his entire career. So its better not to talk about him.
The story
I started wondering where the hell is the story for this movie. Then I realised there cant be one for this movie. So its safer to say that the movie is without proper story and screenplay. The movie moves here and there and finally comes to a grinding halt and you feel as though the whole world has crashed on to you. The climax is really really funny. Rani runs around a railway station(in NY) in saree and our fellow Sharukh tries to hide from her. Initially there were black glasses for the windows in the train compartment and suddenly the glasses become white(duh). Then I dont understand how he managed to come out of a moving train. Clueless and baffled.
Finally the lesser said about the movie, the better and heres a forward I got on this one. Its safe to say that its the worst movie I have ever seen. Dreadful!!
The review is more opt from a software programmer point of view
The program KANK has not been built as per the Functionality Design Specifications (script).
The director should have first created a proper Design Document (screenplay) and then begun the actual coding.
AmitabhBachchan is a powerful class with a number of methods and functions but it has not been effectively used.
AbhishekBachchan, a derived class of AmitabhBachchan, inherits all the attributes and properties of its parent class.
ShahRukhKhan and RaniMukherjee are emotionally overloaded and go into an infinite weeping loop every 60 milliseconds.
The methods such as Songs() and Cinematography() have been properly executed and produce fantastic results.
PreityZinta is an abstract class, which looks pretty but actually does nothing.
Functions like ArjunRampal, JA, and KD pass NULL values and are redundant.
The program takes an unbearably long time to terminate! about 3 hours and 20 minutes.
In User Acceptance Testing, too many defects were found.
Overall, the package is not worth purchasing. You may opt for pirated copies, though.
