Without any expectations on the movie, I went to the theatre because of previous flop flick kabali, but to my surprise everything is good in the movie. The movie starts with local politican and tender holders come to dharavi, a slum place in mumbai , to conquer and remodify the place and rajni will stop them, later the movie runs how rajni and his followers stop nana patnekar, before he conquer the place. Kaala's characterisation amd two love stories of him will make you to fall in love with this movie. Rajni fights for the rights of those slum people and the story goes on with awesome climax. Some scenes are lit and epic, especially rajni entry and the BGM.
Director pa. Ranjith has learnt many things from the failure of kabali and made sure that he hadn't repeated those in kaala. All characters are well written especially eshwari rao, zabina, nana patnekar, and rajni . Fight scenes are composed superbly especially the BGM during rajni's rain fight. The introduction scenes are good. Songs are well composed especially the ravana song, pure goosebumps to rajni fans. Santosh narayan's BGM is major asset to this political drama. Rajni's style and charishma remains evergreen.
Overall the movie is one time watchable with some popcorn. Fights, dialogues, songs, BGM etc everything were taken care of in this film. Although the movie didn't gain much openings but it will sure run in theatres for many weeks.
