A picture is worth a thousand words. But sometimes a few sensible words are worth a million words. Kaal deserves minimum attention, to be precise. And in the interest of fairness, just like the movie deserves minimum attention, so does the review. So I'll be going out of my senses to review the movie. Let's start with the storyline.

Vivek and Lara are a couple and so are John and Esha. Ajay Devgan is Kaali, pretty much the big daddy of all of them when it comes to performance, but more on the performances later. Let's come back to the story. Actually, there isn't any so screw storytelling and lets come straight to the point---the REVIEW. Camerawork is superb and so is the tiger show which unfortunately is too short for the viewer to enjoy. Karan Johar should have allowed the tigers to join his Dharma camp just like he has welcomed SRK---this would help him prevent paying attention to the likes of John Ab ra ham---John Ab raham kar---chodh de viewers ka peecha---baksh de---ur performances are too pathetic---all u do is smoke and die in most of ur movies, u have no sould dude! Vivek Oberoi disappoints. He has gained a great deal of weight and overacts way too much to claim back his A-List days. Wonder where's the talented actor from Company, Road, and Saathiya. Lara Dutta also looks a little chubby at places and OK at others. She has been better looking than this in all her other movies...despite wearing sleezy clothes in Jungle environment it is so ironic and embarassing that Lara looks pathetic and delivers and equally pathetic performance. Esha Deol is adequate...she shows the greatest deal of glamour and talent amongst the awesome....oops...amongst the ridiculous foursome. Esha steals the show from Lara in Tauba Tauba and Nassa Nassa, and also successfully overshadows John Abraham in every frame. A job well done Esha! Though if u thought that this movie is ur ticket to success, beware, u r no where near the truth. Another hero of this movie is its music---Salim Sulaiman give a Vishal-Shekhar like score with Kaal Dhamaal coming nearly as good as Dus Bahane from Dus and Woh Lamhe from Zeher. Tauba Tauba and Nassa Nassa aren't bad either. But songs are missed by the viewer in the regular screenplay. Malaika Arora looks average and her usual self. The tigers, as mentioned above are another factor going in the film's favor that saved the makers from sinking. Truly two men who stand behind Kaal are SRK and Ajay Devgan---both making sure that the end product is far from third rate thanks to the likes of Johnny Boy and Vicky Boy. Anyways coming back to the two saving heroes....hey was SRK a hero...was Ajay a hero...not in the movie as characters but yes for the makers they were their saviours. Shahrukh, in a brief item number, wins my support for the second time in life. I have never been a big SRK fan ever, in fact I always value Amitabh, Salman, Sanjay Dutt, Saif, and Abhishek over him but he certainly proves that he is a notch above the likes of Jonny Boy and Vicky Boy. His performance in Veer Zaara was the first time I started appreciating him and with his Kaal item number he makes sure his sheer presence is enough for the movie to become a success, though sadly the recent Kaals and Pahelis can be sure a contradiction to this belief! The man who definitely is the show stealer is Ajay Devgan. The man enters just post interval and has about a half hour role....thats all Ajay needs...he proved it with movies like Tarzan that he can rock the movie all by himself...he is the actor of the critics but here he successfully convinces the entire audience, even the largest of the critics of his unconventional personality, that if he is given just a little screen space, he can kick some a** and teach acting to John and Vivek...and I hope Ajay continues schooling the two on that so that there is no future Kaal for the viewer...best of luck Ajay, SRK, and Karan...ur efforts deserved more coz Soham's efforts are just a Kaal (death!)
