With initial reluctance, I went to watch this movie FINALLY but if I were to describe this movie in 1 sentence, it would be: National Geographic Channel / NGC revisited.

Story

The movie is shot in Jim Corbett National Park that has been fictionalised as Orbit Park.

As far as the story is concerned, it’s all about a journey of different people who have arrived in the park & the petrifying incidents that occur with them.

While some of them succumb to death, the remaining manage to save their lives (Since they are none other the main starcast).

Vivek & his gang (Lara, Vishal, Kushal) have come for hunting while John & Esha have come for Research work on the Man – eating Tigers.

The movie has been shot brilliantly, especially the vast grasslands of the park & the confrontation of the actors with the tigers but some events make u realize that the tiger is not responsible for the deaths, even before the secret is revealed.

Only 2 of the tourists that come in the beginning in the movie, are killed by the tigers.

Vivek Oberoi

All that he was doing in the movie was ‘Overacting’ & losing his temper over trifles.

Throughout the movie, he keeps repeating the line ‘Jee karta hai, jaan se maar daloon ise’.

Sallu, are u listening?

Vivek in Saathiya was much better as compared to this movie.

John Abraham

His role in the movie is better thanks to the fact that he is shown holding a python around his bare – chested body. (No doubt, the persons in charge of the python must have apparently made the creature docile & harmless)

I feel John has talent provided he does not try to do a Salman Khan in each & every movie.

Lara Dutta

Scantily clad in shorts, she plays the role of a Superstitious & Fearful girl, who does nothing except Screaming & yelling, whenever something eerie happens.

She plays Vivek’s love interest.

Esha Deol

Another member of the same ship, Esha plays John’s wife & an always THIRSTY girl, who keeps drinking water throughout the movie & ultimately dies in the well – water.

Paani ki Talaash mein Paani Paani ho gayi!!!

Both the actresses have been shown in the movie, dressed in minimum clothes. Seems the costume designer ran short of Kapda. Who knows the Tigers might have eaten it!!

Kushal Punjabi, Vishal Malhotra & Parmeet Sethi form the remaining cast of the movie.

Ajay Devgan (Kali Pratap Singh)

The final saving grace of the film. I was totally amazed by his on – screen presence.

His entry comes when the actors in the movie are being surrounded by the tigers.

The moment Ajay comes in, the tigers move away.

Kali is an out & out mysterious person who helps the actors in coming out from the jungle, as they have already lost few of their friends.

Kali symbolises someone who is nothing but a Sly Diplomat. He will advise u to take a decision but at the same time, will try to scare u of the spooky repercussions.

All throughout the movie, Kali mentions nothing except the Bloodcurdling deaths that have been occurring in the jungle, since the last 2 months.

The dialogue that I still remember is: Kali bakta rahta hai, lekin koi sune tab na.

Ajay’s way of speaking & the Strange look on his face, always makes u wonder what he will say next.

Tigers

How can I dare forget the 3 tigers that have shown their Ferocious presence with the movie’s starcast? The grace with which, the tigers have been shown walking, was Eye – catching.

Though there is just 1 scene showing the tigers with the actors, there are few other scenes, only depicting the tiger’s eyes, claws & orange – white skin.

Music

Though the film is songless, 2 songs appear; 1 in the beginning ie Kaal Dhamaal & the other, at the end of the movie ie Tauba Tauba.

Salim – Sulaiman have done a Superb job in composing the music for the songs & the background music of the film.

Kaal Dhamaal features SRK with Malaika Arora while Tauba Tauba features the 4 stars of the movie.

Blunder

The scene depicts Vivek’s car running over a cat & a little while later, the cat’s blood is present inside the bonnet, most probably on the engine / car driving machinery.

Can anyone explain to me, how the blood managed to reach there, if the cat got stuck in the inferior most area of the car?

Trivia

Some years ago, the original Aahat series on Sony, mentioned about a similar concept, wherein many people are believed to be attacked & killed by an animal that takes away the entire part consisting of the head & face upto the neck.

Initially, the evidences prove it to be a Tiger’s play but later, it is revealed that the murderer is actually a human!

Seems the writer cum director Soham has been inspired from the above mentioned story.
