I am writing this review as I could not find any review about KSTDC taxi operators, this review may help you in making a decision about choosing this service or at least you will know before hand what to expect.
I had to take a cab in an emergency, from Bangalore to Raichur, as one of my relative passed away, I googled it and found this service. I spoke with Shekhar the person who picked the phone, I inquired about the price per km and related information, As per the website per KM charge is 6.50Rs/KM for Indica Non AC, but he said the information is outdated and actual price is 7.5Rs/KM+ toll+ Driver Bata of 200 Rs.
I booked the cab at 07:00 AM, it was supposed to reach in 40 mins, it reached 50 mins late.
We boarded the cab at 8:40, driver asked me which route to take to Raichur, because I frequently travel by bus and the route I knew was Hyd National Highway. When I suggested, driver said that as we enter Andhra we have to pay 750 Rs Entry tax and the number of toll booths are more compared to Chitradurga route, also he said the distance is closer via Chitradurga.
I trusted the driver and we took Chitradurga road, later on the route driver asked me to show the way, which I was not aware of, and I knew that I was being misguided, so we have to stop umpteen number of times and ask for the route to Raichur.
The road on this route was narrower and lot of goods vehicles which slowed us down, eventually we reached Raichur at 06:30 PM, it took 10 hours and 520 Kms.
On reaching I asked the driver about the how the number of Kms exceed more by 100 Kms, he said I was the one who suggested to take Chitradurga road.
Through Hyderabad NH, it is 420 KM and 6-7 hours journey, I ended up paying 1000 Rs more, paid 400 Driver Bata instead of 200, lost 3 precious hours of in an emergency.
All in all, be careful, make your plans well, I had very short time to take a decision, find if the driver is actually suggesting you the right information.
Note: I checked Aptransport "https://aptransport.org/html/rates-of-taxes.htm" as per this page the entry tax is Rs 21 for 5 or less passengers.
