I have travelled on KSRTC volvo services quite a lot, Bangalore to Mangalore, Pune to Belgaum, Mumbai to Davangere etc. I will jolt down my experience in a few words
Bangalore-Mangalore: The usual free mineral water bottle and even a wet tissue! Great. The reading lights however wasnt working. The bus driver wasnt well trained, it was evident in the way he was changing gears. Bus was on time, reached on time. Overall, okish experience.
Pune-Belgaum: complimentary mineral water bottle, and the reading lights were working too. Bus was slightly late, but reached on time. Driver knew how to handle the bus, and drive it too. Overall, nice experience
Mumbai-Davanagere: First time I went, the bus was to reach Davanagere at 6am as per its website. The driver, before leaving Mumbai(vashi) told they wouldnt drop us at the bus station(davanagere) whereas when I booked it online, it was clearly mentioned. I was quite worried during the journey as there is no chance of getting an auto from the highway at 6 in the morning. Also the bus reached Vashi a good 30mins late(4:30pm as compared to 4pm mentioned on the site)
Thankfully the driver dropped us inside davanagere city, at the bus station. I think because they were running ahead of schedule(we reached there by 5:15am!)
The second time, my mother was to travel and then the same prob. Bus reaches vashi at 4:30pm, driver tells he wont drop in the city, but ends up dropping inside the city, ahead of schedule at 5:30am.
My point is, they end up makin the passenger worry a lot. Also, when my mother travelled, the bus had just 12 passenger, my mum and one more lady being the only female passengers: this can again be a bother
Overall: satisfied.
