I have kinda good/bad experience with the Ksrtc Volvo services and hence I would like to state that they provide average mode of transport.
Here I will describe one of my journeys with KSRTC volvo services. Last month I had booked two tickets for MUMBAI from Shanthi Nagar Bus depot(Bengaluru). The service number was 1506BNGMUM and the bus was suppose to start at 1506(03.06PM). Me and my husbnd were travelling together for family visit.
We reached the Bus Depot by 02.40 Pm well in advance as we always do. Happy that there was a AC waiting hall we made us comfortable for the journey. There were many other passengers inside the waiting hall who were also waiting for the same Bus towards Mumbai.
Now the time was already 03.10 PM and there was no sign of the BUS. We along with the other passengers still kept waiting until someone just came and uttered that the BUS will come at 3.30PM. My husband went to the reservation counter to get the information about the delay. He was told in a BOLD voice person behind the counter that "BUS will come Sir, don not worry". This was not the answer that we expected and on further questioning he answered that the BUS went to fill Diesel. Common this is not suppose to be the answer and if there was a delay they should have made the announcement. This was the first instance of inconvenience.
By 03.28 PM the bus arrived and boarding started. The Driver was indeed more courteous as he immediately apologized for the delay and assured that we will start asap. The bus was really great and it was a Multi-axle. The seats that we have chosen were 7 and 8 which was just the second row seats. The ambiance inside the BUS was really great it was clean enough.
The bus started and the stuff gave us Water Bottles and also emergency pouch which cab used during uneasy. The driver was also driving at an average speed making the journey more comfortable as the total journey time was around 18 hours. They also gave dinner breaks on time and also gave rest room stops at particular points. We finally reached Mumbai Central at around 09.45 AM the next day. This journey was a good one according to me but I have also seen that many other buses that I have traveled were not maintained properly, seats being little nasty as they automatically leaning back and also the blankets bit smelly.
But overall they provide a service which I will rate as average.
