KPN is one of the few travels to operate bus services daily to all the cities in Tamilnadu from Chennai and Bangalore.
For more than 5 years I am travelling regularly in KPN buses but never faced problems. But last week I had a very bad experience with KPN which I want to share with MS.
I booked two tickets to Thiruvarur from salem in Bangalore- Velankanni AC sleeper bus. The booking guys gave me a hand written ticket instead of printout. When I asked them about the hand written ticket, they said nothing to worry. Bus was an hour late, me and my wife boarded the bus.
Early morning around 4 ‘o’ clock the bus reached Trichy and some passenger got down. Then the driver was looking for some passenger and finally he came to me and enquired where I have to get down. I told him that I have to get down at Tiruvarur.
But driver has a different counter ticket mentioning my seat numbers and dropping point as Trichy. I was surprised to see the ticket with same seat number but different dropping point.He told me to get down, I showed him my ticket which is mentioned as Tiruvarur. But he was not in a mood to listen and started behaving rudely.
I was not ready to give up and told him that my ticket is up to Thiruvarur so I will not get down, do whatever u can. Bus was stranded for more than 45 minutes, and then the driver called up the Salem office and started shouting at the office staffs.
Then I came to know that someone who booked ticket from Bangalore to Trichy didn't board the bus. So this office guys in Salem gave me a duplicate ticket. They took money and assigned those booked seats to me and my wife.
By this way they are cheating the passengers as well as the bus owner. Finally the office guys and the driver came to some sort of settlement and then driver moved the bus.
After reaching Thiruvarur, I called up the KPN’s head office and gave a complaint about this incident. The general manager promised me that he will take action against these guys. I will meet the Manager next week once I go back to Salem.
So never accept handwritten tickets from any private travels, they might be cheating u. Make sure u are booked properly.
