Finally I did gorge on the much heard of Zinger burgers at KFC. Accompanied by my vegan friend, I was apprehensive to enter KFC outlet at Powai. Since it was late evening, almost a fine time for dinner I didn’t want my friend to starve. After giving it several second thoughts and using hell a lot of conviction my pal did relent. One glance at the carte du jour and I was absolutely guilt ridden though it didn't last long. The menu does offer options to vegetarians along with a true feast for chicken lovers.
Firstly I will focus on what KFC is most famous for-'Chicken' .As their slogan goes " Nobody Does Chicken Like KFC!". Well I had “Feast for One” meal, which includes the KFC specialty crispy chicken leg, 300ml of coke and a Zinger Burger. This all comes for just Rs. 99/-. The burger bread is soft and fresh and inside the crispy chicken fillet is topped with mayo and salad.Given that I don't possess a very huge appetite I was totally fulfilled.I did pick a bucket for home instead.Yes, One bucket with 12 Chicken legs costing only Rs.300/-.KFC also offers other varieties for chicken eaters to name a few like Non Veg Thali, Chicken strips costing less that Rs.60/-
Now as I had stated earlier that my happiness was short lived, the reason follows. My friend whom I had dragged in with me decided on “Veg Thali” but unfortunately the same was over considering its high demand. The Thali as showed in the list includes 3 Veg. Fingers, 1 Makhani Curry and Veg. Pulav and costs Rs.50/-. Due to its unavailability my friend settled for a “Veg Snacker” and “Veg fingers with salsa sauce”. The size of the burger was really small, as it costs merely Rs.25/-. The final verdict by pal was its just not satisfactory. So I had to make it up by accompanying him to a Veg eatery soon after.
Overall I had a pleasant experience at KFC, Powai since it was not to heavy on the pocket excluding the bucket cost.Although what they really need is a CD because this place kept on rewinding and re-playing "Tere Bin" - the Atif Aslam song for nth number of times.
Ultimately, I would personally suggest KFC if you also prefer bland and completely opposite to spicy tandoori chicken for food.Especially the KFC- Powai outlet if you love kids as you will find many of them running around with ballons that KFC provides and your ears dont oppose to "Tere Bin" song even on being subject to its constant repetition.
