God thanks alot for giving us great legendary director Kalatapasvi K viswanath to our Telugu film industry.Oh what can I say about this legend, I am not enough to give review about this legend.But let me try guys,
Its the time where entire telugu film industry moulded completely towards commercial formula instead of giving its best, same common normal style of movies are coming.Then a small hope existed in the form of K vishwanath who given his best of the best contributions in 70"s & mostly in 80"s.His style of functioning is perfect & inspiration for many.
He was born on feb 19Th 1930, in a telugu brahmin family.He is Kasinathuni vishwanath. His first directorial debut is with legendry ANR Atmagauram in Telugu which was a block buster at that time.he came out with entirely different conceptual movies in 70"s & 80"s.
He is one of the 4 corner stones among Bapu, Jandhyala & Vamsy in 80"s.He proved how to make successful movies without any commercial elements.Other directors like, Dasari, Raghavender Rao etc making only commercial films & becoming success, but Vishwanath given importance to our culture, arts, dance, classical as well as our ancient music etc.Before to the Vishwanath era, no telugu cinema won any national awards or any kind applause in the national level, but vishwanath"s every movie deserves it.He given importance to arts which is good.
His first super success is with SIRI SIRI MUVVA in 1979 is a super success music , vishwanaths taking makes the film excellent outcome.He remade movie into hindi as Sargam.
Then coming greatest epic in Telugu in the same year, SANKARABHARANAM (means ornament of lord shiva) revolves around music & dance.mainly its music is simply un believable, really its a great experiment because there no noted actors, all are new faces.KV mahadevan given his best. SP Balasubramanyam won his forst national award.No body knows till that time SP balu can sing like that. Sankarabharanam won national award in regional film catogery & Kv mahadevan & SPB also won national awards.
then seethamaalaxmi, Saptapadi is another experimental films.then subhalekha with Megastar chiranjeevi.SAAGARA SANGAM in 1983 with great kamal hasan is really a vishwanaths wonder, completely revolves around music & dancing.Mainly Illayaraja"s music is asset for the film, Kamal & Jayaprada given their best.mainly we will feel vishwanath in every frame of the movie,
Then SWATIMUTYAM in 1985 again with Kamal Hasan, The movie won accolades at the International Asian Film Festival in both "Best Film" and "Best Actor" categories, what a story line, concept is about about an autistic person who defies existing social customs and traditions for a good cause.In every frame film talks about vishwanath,
Then SIRIVENNALA in 1986 , story about a blind man & dum female & ofcourse about music & painting art.All the songs are great again from Kv mahadevan.Then SRUTILAYALU, SWAYAMKRUSHI are again greatest movies.
SWARNAKAMALAM in 1988 is really a film wonder completely revolves around dance only again Illayaraja given his best.Bhanupriya is given her finest & best performance.Then Suthradharulu, Aapadbhanduvudu, are social cause movies.
SWATIKIRANAM in 1992 is really greatest wonder, great actor Mamooty played imp role in the movie.Later his movies like chinnabbai, are not that much successful & he started acting in the movies & he was also very successfull as an actor.
He given importance to arts like music, dancing etc, & his combination are excellent, he worked mostly with Illayaraja, KV Mahadeva, Veturi Sundararama Murthy, Sirivennela seetarama shastry, SP Balu, Janaki etc, his most of the movies were produced by Edida Nageswara Rao, Poornodaya creations.
He is really a Kalatapasvi of Indian cinema who given importance to reality instead of only commertiality. He is really great legend.
