GIT is a self-financing Engineering College started in 1979 to meet the growing demand for technically trained manpower for industrial growth of the country. The college is managed by Karnatak Law Society and is affiliated to VTU and is recognised by AICTE.
Teaching Quality-" Depends on which stream you are opting. But overall.. Teaching is not a concern.
Internal Averages: Not that great.. But one can manage to get good marks if bit of efforts are put in.
Totally Negligence towards Cultural programs, More Concerned about Academics.
Ambience and Atmosphere in the college- Awesome.
Food- Not a Problem as this college has 4 options- Cafe House, Canteen, Mess, Ice Cream/Milkshake.
Hostel- Rooms are quite Ok.. Gals hostel is good... as its newly constructed within the campus and has all good amenities.
Good internet connection.. Wi-Fi hotspots at almost Major places.
Placement - Very Good, All top blue chip companies and automobile companies visit this college every year.
One thing I would like to mention about this college is .. Its located in the north part of karnataka.. It has a diverse set of students studying in GIT. most of the people who study here are from local state i.e karnataka and when it comes to neighbouring states they come from 'goa' and 'maharashtra' plus from other north indian states.
