Some learn from a bad experience, some just can?t help repeating it. That?s my take on the character of Julie played by Neha Dhupia. (Her talent has come a long way though, and I think she actually looks quite pretty in many of the scenes.)

The movie is the typical ?my boyfriend ditched me, I CHOOSE to become a Prostitute and now will the Society accept me? Story. With a lot of flesh (inartistically exhibited) added to spice up a bland storyline.

Honestly, the overall plot of the movie is deplorable to say the least. I just can?t fathom how an ?honest?, ?sweet?, ?homely? and I guess fairly educated innocent Goan girl can choose to become a Prostitute out of her own free will. I mean ?Come on? why couldn?t she get another job, why not go back to Goa, why choose the worst possible option?

Throughout the movie, the character keeps barking about how people have exploited her ?innocence?, where as leaving aside 2 scenes, I think the character has not acted ?innocently? at all.

She has Sex with her first boyfriend, repeats the same with her second boyfriend. Has a live-in relationship. OK Fine, it?s the 21st century and we are all entitled to make our own choices, but then should we not be accountable for them. We can?t just scream Foul and act the proverbial ?innocent babe in the woods? when it suits us.

The movie is thoroughly predictable, right from Julie?s first relationship onwards. It?s the storywriter belief that average audience IQ must range somewhere between ?10 and ?20 and so everything in the movie is totally predictable and S-P-E-L-L-E-D out for our benefit.

However, the ending is quite good, both Emotionally (personally I love happy endings) and in the social context. It was undeniably the only part of the

movie, which was more appealing than my Popcorn packet.

Final Take: If you have nothing better to do, skip the movie's beginning and watch the last 30 minutes of it.
