One of the best books I have ever read. It is an odd story! The story of a seagull. But the character is so humanized that we can easily correlate to the story. Jonathan is a seagull who likes to fly. He believes that living on day-to-day basis is not what life is meant for. But this passion of his is a source of shame to his family and his clan. As happens with most almost all of the path breakers he is out-casted. But he pursues his dreams and still succeeds.
The story leaves us to think what are we doing. How many of us are really into the professions we feel about. We may be wealthy but are we happy doing what we are doing. Yanny said while receiving ''Grammy award'', 'I am very fortunate that I am making money doing what I love to do’. The story of Jonathan inspires us to follow our dreams, fulfil our passions and strangely it gives us inspiration.
The story is not fully about fighting against odds. The author also gives us the message of forgiving and helping even those who do us harm. Philosophically bent I would recommend this book to every teenager who is making a career choice.
